Homeschool Program: GeoSpace Lab

GeoSpace Lab Specialists from DuPage Children's Museum introduce a variety of paper engineering techniques used to construct geometric shapes such as cones, cubes, and cylinders. These "paper engineers" will also create a 3D geometric diorama inside and around a cardboard box. For grades 1-5. Reserve your spot.
The Gender Revolution

Discover the rapidly evolving complexities of gender identity. View the National Geographic documentary The Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric and hear from a four-person panel of teen and adult experts about transgender life. Jungle Book Ball
Saturday, November 4 | 7-10 pm
Evoking Rudyard Kipling's beloved tale of Mowgli and his jungle adventures, this formal-attire ball will feature local fare, an open bar, live and silent auctions, and so much more! General tickets are $150 per person and VIP Prologue tickets, which grant access to a VIP hour beginning at 6 pm, are $300 per person. A limited number of tickets still available.

Proceeds from The Jungle Book Ball will support Phase III of the Glen Ellyn Public Library Master Renovation Plan. For more details visit gepl.org/redesign. All donations made to the Glen Ellyn Library Foundation are tax deductible as allowable by law.

Friends Annual Community Mailing
Wednesday, October 18 | 6-9 pm
Thursday, October 19 | 9 am-1 pm
The Friends are looking for volunteers to help with their annual community mailing. Typically, they raise more than $15,000 for the library through this mailing. RSVP to [email protected] if you would like to help!

FOL members, friends, and volunteers fold the solicitation letter, stuff it with a return envelope into an envelope, and affix a pre-printed mailing label. Enjoy coffee, snacks and friendly conversations. Volunteers are appreciated for any amount of time that their schedules permit. Stay for at least an hour and earn a free book coupon redeemable at a future Used Book Sale

Pumpkin Flotilla Fest
Sunday, October 22 | 4-7 pm | Lake Ellyn Park
Fall is a wonderful time to visit Lake Ellyn Park! Bring your carved pumpkin and be part of our 2nd annual Pumpkin Flotilla on the lake. Enjoy live entertainment with Jeanie B! and the Jelly Beans, activities and games throughout the park, pumpkin carving demonstration, trackless train rides, bounce houses, canoe rides, and, of course, we'll end the evening with our lit pumpkin flotilla on the lake at dusk! All ages welcome.
