FEATURED EVENT: Hillsboro Schools Foundation Donates $140,000 for STEM Kits
The Hillsboro Schools Foundation (HSF) presented the Hillsboro School District with a ceremonial check for $140,000 at the School Board meeting on September 26, 2017. This investment in support of elementary STEM kits, which included $132,000 in cash for the purchase of the kits, as well as 80 new microscopes from Vernier Software, represents the largest single contribution HSF has made to the District and was made possible by a multi-year effort that was supported by many donors. The kits will be packed with hands-on tools for the meaningful exploration of science, technology, engineering, and math, and correspond with the new elementary science curriculum that is being rolled out in classrooms this fall.
