Credo...Keeping your faith in unbelievable times.
Ours is a time when people are struggling for faith. People are struggling with what they believe in and how to keep believing. We hear it in our young adults. They want to believe in a God who makes a difference. They know the God that they don't believe in-a God of easy answers, a God tied to a particular political point of view. But they struggle with what kind of God they do believe in.
Sermon Title:
"God-Breathed! - The Relevant Powerful Word"
Dr. Will Cotton will preach at the 8:30 and 9:40 am services. Rev. Dr. Beverly Jones will preach at the 11 am worship service.
The Source
, our weekly devotional guide, is available on the
church website
.
Our Jubilation handbell team will be ringing in both sanctuary services.
Please join us in worship this Sunday at 8:30 am (Sanctuary), 9:40 am (FLC), or 11 am (Sanctuary).

Celebrating of the Commissioning of
Rev. Katie Meek
as a Missionary of the United Methodist Church
We hope you can join us for one or both of these two events:

- Sunday, October 22, Cookies and Punch Reception, 12 noon in the Family Life Center.
How can you help?
For both events, we will need food and beverage donations as well as people to help set up and keep the tables full. You can volunteer at one of these links:
Please note that each of these signups has 3 tabs at the top: set up/ clean up, donations of food/beverages, and helping at the actual event.
Do you have some good Katie pics?
We will be producing a video presentation for the events and a memory book for Katie. If you have some photos you would like to share, please send them to Myra Schomburg,

On October 29 we are hosting our annual
Trunk or Treat and Fall Festival
. This is an afternoon for children of the congregation and community. They can come trick or treat at the decorated trunks and also participate in our Fall Festival activities. To make this event a success, we are going to need your help.
How can you help?
- Donate Candy: We rely on candy donations to pass out to children during the trunk or treat so we are asking for you to help donate candy. You can bring the candy to the Student Ministry Office or on Sunday Mornings there will be a bin in the Sanctuary Foyer.
- Sign Up to provide a Trunk: Trunk or Treat relies on people signing up to bring their trunk and help pass out candy to children as they come through. You will come with your car, decorate your trunk and then pass out candy, this is crucial to the success of the event. To sign up your trunk follow this link: Trunk or Treat Sign Up
- Volunteer for the Festival: There are also opportunities to sign up and volunteer for the festival portion of the event and this will be a huge need as well. This is a great way for youth earn service hours that they might need and its fun to help put on a great event for children! We will need volunteers to set up, work the booths and clean up!
We look forward to this event every year and hope that you will help us in making it a success yet again.
Thank you all so much!

Last call for the Vision Survey

This survey gives you the opportunity to share your concerns and dreams for the future for our great congregation. This survey will close soon, so don't delay! It will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

If you are like many of us, you shop at Amazon or Amazon Prime. If so, you could help First Church by going to
http://smile.amazon.com and selecting
First United Methodist Church of Round Rock as your charitable organization. As you shop, Amazon will give 0.5% of your purchase to First Church. No additional fees are added to your purchase. Dollars donated will go directly into the church general revenue fund. If we all remember to do this with each purchase, it could begin to add up. Give it a try!
