Reformation Sunday: Immanuel's Homecoming
by Pastor Paul

Ho mecoming! Reformation Sunday!
Save the date! In October Immanuel is having its first ever "Homecoming" celebration. We are asking and inviting everyone who has ever been a part of this faith community in any way, all those who consider Immanuel to be their "home church," to "come home" for a special day of celebration.
It all happens on Sunday October 29 at 10:00am at the Mayberry Auditorium at the Crosby-Ironton High School.
It will be a special time of worship, followed by fellowship and a German-style meal (Brats and such!) and will mark the final Sunday of our worship/small group series
"Here I Stand We Go"
All of this is in honor of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation begun by Martin Luther.
There will be only one service on that Sunday. A free will offering is greatly appreciated and will go towards the cost of the meal and use of the school. Please RSVP to the church office at 218-546-6610 or [email protected] by Monday, October 16.

Handbell Ministry
by Judy Kirchoff

Great news!  We have a vocal choir to perform with the handbell choir on December 10.  Judi Burson will be directing the choir practices which will begin on November 7.  Judy Kirchoff will be contacting those choir members that had signed up.  If you have not signed up and would like to sing "How Quietly" with us, you are very welcome to join us.  Contact Judy Kirchoff at 218-546-2804 or 218-820-2802 with any questions.  In a couple of weeks there will be a sign-up sheet at Sunday School for children who would like to sing "Away In A Manger" with the choir and bells.  They will need to have the 2 stanzas memorized.

The Chapel Chimers are going to have some fun durin g the church service this Sunday the 15th.  They will surprise Pastor Paul with some readings in appreciation of his service to Immanuel.

Our practices have been going well and the new Chimers are learning how to count and use the correct techniques.  In November and December they will play the handbells instead of the chimes.

Judy Kirchoff, Director

Churchyard

Sunday, October 1st was the last Sunday for Paul Fairchild with the Churchyard band as Paul and Bonnie will be leaving the area soon. The band also said a temporary goodbye to Denise Kalevik as she will be gone until next summer. The band played a song that Paul had written with Paul singing the song.
