Trustees Update & Parsonage Driveway Fundraiser
Your response to the parsonage driveway project has been overwhelming! We are well on our way to raising the needed funds to replace the existing paved driveway with concrete. However, we have not yet me our goal of $6000 that is the estimated cost of this project. Please continue to prayerfully consider contributing to support this needed work!

As most of you know, the Trustees’ focus during 2016 was to complete numerous repairs and needed updates to the church thanks to funds made available by the council. Although there is still more that can be done, we've decided to do updates to our parsonage that were long overdue. To complete this work, we were able to use designated funds donated to the church this past year.

The following are items either completed or that are underway: entirely new gutter system, including repairs to the fascia, removed carpet from the master bedroom and living/dining room and restored the existing oak flooring, installed much needed lighting in basement and on rear deck and added additional outlets, replaced or updated all kitchen appliances with modern stainless steel finish units, including conversion of the range to gas, replaced or rekeyed door locks, purchased new vacuum cleaner, and replacing the outdated kitchen countertop with granite and new sink and fixtures. In addition, the Men's group helped with the removal of the carpet, did major trimming to the shrubs and trees, and at their expense, installed a new lower level deck.
We are all thankful to have Brother Michael and Pam at our church and these improvements will be to their benefit and future pastors plus preserves the investment we have in the parsonage. In spite of all the work completed, there is a large project we are unable to fund: the paved driveway is literally disintegrating and needs to be replaced. Thanks to the efforts by Bill and Raphord Farrington, we have the option to install a concrete drive that will last for many years and also solve tripping and drainage issues with the current drive. The estimated cost for this work is $6000 and we are asking for designated donations to complete this work. It's important to note that these donations will be in addition to any pledged funds to the general fund. We prayerfully ask you consider contributing to support this needed work.
Regards,
Tom Nicholson

Honduras Medical Mission
A Mission Team has been assembled and planning is well underway for a medical mission to Honduras January 13-20. Team Members are currently Chad McKelvey, Heath and Laura Daniel, Madolyn Daniel, Rev. Michael Carver and Robin Horton.
The team will be in the Olanchito area of Honduras meeting the medical and spiritual needs of Hondurans living in a mountainous, impoverished area with little if any medical facilities. Laden with medicines, supplies, and their bibles, the team will trek to remote areas tending to the needs of the people.
This team needs your prayers and financial support. To give, simply visit the "GIVE" menu item on our website where you can mail a check or use your major credit card to help this team raise the more than $15,000 needed for this critical mission.
For more information about this mission, contact Laura Daniel at l_danielrn@yahoo.com.

Church Fun Day
Thank You
Our Sunday "Fun Day" was truly a fun day!!! Thank you ...thank you to all of you who helped make it the day that it was... and there were so many of you. Matt Rickman for allowing us to come and connect with the Lord and each other at beautiful Camp ASCCA, Helen Harbor, thank you for your support, signs, gathering of rocks and setting up for the rock painting and all who helped with the painting. Elise Williams, who helped with the planning, gathering of supplies and overseeing the day. To all the cooks, Jesse, Billie, Rick , Tom, Bobby, Phil Baker..the hotdogs and hamburgers were cooked to perfection. Also thanks to all who helped get them into a bun...what fun!! Thanks to the Bynums and the Daniels who helped with the baseball, Joe Abercrombie and Jim Yerkey who manned the putt- putt golf, Fred Worsham who manned the Frisbee golf, all who volunteered to make a dessert, side dish, bring a snack, water and other needs for the day. Thanks to Jerry Bynum for his "Love Story" that was our devotion at the end of the day. Very fitting since it was connected with Camp ASCCA. Thanks to Mark Staples, Larry Dollar and all in their group who led us in a time of song for our closing. At the end of my thank you list, I must include all of you who came for "Fun Day". It wouldn't have happened without you!! By the way, we had an estimated 75 people. Last but not least, our sweet and always accommodating, Leighanne, who sent you your invite, your signup and reminder. Thanks to each one of you for a great "Fun Day"
God Bless,
Barbara
