PWP LAUNCHES REDESIGNED WEBSITE

In an effort to enhance the customer experience, Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) recently redesigned its website and is excited to share the new look and features with our customers.

PWP's primary goal was to create an intuitive and user-friendly online experience.  The newly redesigned website allows customers to easily sign in to their utility account from the home page and to submit rebate applications online.  PWP also improved the user experience by building a more robust search function, upgrading the look and feel of the Outage Map, and ensuring the website was usable on a variety of mobile devices.

This is one of the many ways PWP is committed to being a customer-focused utility.

SOLAR REBATES TO END IN DECEMBER

The Pasadena Solar Initiative Program is scheduled to sunset on December 31, 2017. PWP customers must submit a  complete rebate application before the deadline and projects must be completed within six months of the submittal.

Since the program's inception in January 2008, nearly 1,100 PWP customers have participated in the PSI program, with 4.7 MW of the solar power coming from residential systems, 3.9 MW from non-residential customers and 0.4 MW from income-qualified customers. When the program ends in December, PWP estimates approximately 10 MW of solar generation will be installed.

In 2010 and 2017, Smart Electric Power Alliance named PWP as one of the top ten utilities in the nation with the most solar watts per customer.

Although incentives will no longer be offered after December 31, PWP will continue to assist customers who are interested in installing solar photovoltaic systems in their homes or businesses.

NEW SCHOOL YEAR KICKS OFF GREEN PROGRAMS

Every school year, PWP partners with local organizations to provide engaging curriculu for Pasadena  Unified School District (PUSD) students that encourages energy and water wise lifestyles.

Green Living Curriculum is a partnership with the City of Pasadena's Department of Public Works and PWP, where more than 1,200 second grade students in PUSD receive a six-week course. The curriculum is led by a teacher who visits classrooms once a week and discusses topics on sustainability and conservation.

PWP also partners with the Armory Center for the Arts on the Children Investigate the Environment program. This partnership focuses on fostering environmental stewardship through the arts both inside and outside of the classroom. With the help of Artist-Teachers, over 700 fourth grade students receive weekly classroom visits and participate in field trips throughout a semester.
