In the spirit which John Muir embraced the botanical world,
Nature's Beloved Son
traces his travels through North America and presents vivid images
of the actual plants that Muir held in his hands,  
carried in his pockets, and preserved for all time. 
 
 
The Museum invites you to enjoy chamber music as it was intended, in a warm, intimate setting, where you are treated as a guest.  T his time the Encelia Chamber Ensemble will be joined by the local  Creosote Brass Quintet. Pieces by Bach, Copland, Mozart and others will be performed and set the mood for the fall season.

"Believe  It or Not: Haunting and Weird Tales as told by the Museum's Collection"
on display October 12 through November 25

Come by the museum to see some of the rarest, yet most morbid, creepy and plain out weird items from the collection.  Some have never been displayed!  This mini-exhibit will explain each item's significance in haunted lore and even debunk some popular beliefs...

Join the CNPS for the first meeting of the Fall/Winter season with a presentation by Judy Perkins.  Judy is currently the Mojave Desert Native Plant Coordinator with the BLM California State Office, stationed in Palm Springs. She has also worked as a Botanist with the BLM Oil & Gas program in western Colorado, as the Forest Bota
nist on the Modoc National Forest, and as an Assistant Forest Botanist on the Lassen National Forest in northeastern Californi a. Light refreshments will be provided.
