Who is this cast...
and where do they come from...
The 10 member cast for TLP's first production of its third season come from five different local communities and seven are new to the TLP stage.

Cast members were recently queried about how they found out about auditions, previous acting experiences, how they would encourage you, the audience, to come to this production; and would they come back for more TLP opportunities.

In this blast and the next, read their most interesting responses.

Dan Myers , playing the dual role of Jekyll and Hyde, was ready for a theatre experience again, googled local theaters, and found The Lancaster Playhouse. Describing himself as "transitory" his biggest challenge has been in trying to develop two complete characters. This production is allowing him the opportunity to explore the spectrum of human ethics, nature, and morality and challenge how they are understood

Myers began acting in Children's Theatre productions in Oregon. Starting in second grade, he performed in musicals every summer. He is absolutely coming back to TLP for more opportunities on both sides of the stage.

He invites you to this production with these words:.
"This is an exceptional cast and the story is filled with interesting characters."
The role of Sir Danvers Carew, father of Diana,is being played by Millersport resident and theatre veteran Jeff Dupler . His first acting experience was his ninth grade class play. When asked to describe himself in one word, Dupler says "dependable," as is his character, Sir Danvers.

An email blast alerted him to this audition and he has enjoyed the interaction with others. TLP will definitely be on his radar for future theatre options.

He invites you to this production with these words:
"Talented actors in a well written play."
The Irish maid, Bridget, is a newly arrived Lancastrian and declares herself to be "gregarious." Jane O'Brien found audition opportunities on a poster at the Ale House. She admits her biggest challenge to the role has been the Irish brogue but she has enjoyed meeting new people during this production.

She is not new to the stage. Her first remembered role is in Funny Girl in high school but has been told she was in The King and I as a child. Other productions she has been associated with include Oklahoma, Cinderella and Carnival.

She invites you to the production with these words:
If you need a reminder to always cultivate your better self, be sure to see this show."
TLP theatre patrons will recognize Jim Cummins , portraying Jekyll's friend and mentor. Dr. Lanyon, from past TLP productions including Arsenic and Old Lace (Teddy), The Sunshine Boys (Willie Clark), and Fourteen (the butler). He claims he found out about auditions from the website, but as TLP Board Chairman, he knows all about The Lancaster Playhouse.

His memorable first theatre experience was playing a tortilla street vendor in fourth grade. He got to wear a big sombrero and a mustache. His one word description of himself is "passionate'. He loves being in his first drama. His biggest challenge are the distractions that keep him from committing his lines to his brain!

He invites you to the production in these words:
"The story and cast are excellent. Come PLAY with us."
Kim Wickham plays Connie, the maid who witnesses a gruesome murder in the streets of London and is happy to share that story with anyone who will listen,.This Carroll resident learned about auditions from the website.

Wickham remembers being on the stage for the first time in elementary school, singing with various choirs. Previous onstage credits include Danger From the Sky and The Hobbit. She also served on stage crews in high school.

"Extrovert" is how she describes herself. She has enjoyed all involved with this production and is hopeful for future roles. This play's biggest challenge for her has been remembering lines and cues.

She invites you to this production in these words:
"Something new and exciting to try."
