Guidance Announcements
  • Bruins, BE KIND! Each week I would like to challenge students to complete a step toward making Rock Bridge High the kindest, most compassionate and inclusive school in town! This week the challenge is: Walk away from a conversation that includes negative gossip and/or use only positive gossip if you talk about others. Positive gossip creates an environment where people begin to look for the best in each other and is beneficial for all organizations, from your family and school,  all the way up to mega-corporations. With gratitude, your Outreach Counselor-Ms. Thalhuber

  • Sophomores - the 2018 Hoby State Leadership Seminar will be held June 15-17, 2018 in Cape Girardeau, MO.  Hoby's State Leadership Seminar empowers high school sophomores to develop their leadership talents to become the leaders of their community. The seminar curriculum is based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and develops leadership from three perspectives: Personal Leadership, Group Leadership, and Leadership for Society.  Interested students should exhibit strong leadership skills/experience, outstanding communication skills, creative problem solving, sensitivity to the needs or concerns of others, courage to speak out for one's beliefs, and participation in community service activities.  If you are interested in being nominated for the 2018 Hoby State Leadership Seminar, please write a short response to the following prompt:  "In 75 to 100 words, please describe the most rewarding and challenging aspect of being a leader in your school and community" and submit your writing to Mrs. Reed in the Counseling Office by Tuesday, November 21, 2017.
