Celebrating National Health IT Week

The first week of October is National Health IT Week (NHIT). WISHIN believes this is the perfect opportunity to th ank its WISHIN Pulse participants for helping create one of the most robust health information exchanges in the nation.

Health IT improves quality of care and patient safety, decreases medical errors, and strengthens the interactions between patients and health care providers. WISHIN continues to grow and innovate every month and looks forward to helping shape the future of health IT in Wisconsin as the state's designated entity for electronic health information exchange.

Here is a snapshot of WISHIN's numbers as of August 2017:

HIMSS and the Institute for eHealth Policy established National Health IT Week in 2006. For one week each year, the Administration, Congress, corporations, providers, and non-profit organizations around the country join together to recognize the importance of health IT and shine a spotlight on the value it brings to health care in the United States. For more information on NHIT Week, or how your organization can get involved, visit http://www.healthitweek.org/.

In the spirit of the week, WISHIN would like to turn the spotlight on its partners at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) eHealth Program, which administers the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. DHS recently published a set of updates to its eHealth website
The updated site includes additional resources for health care consumers and health care professionals on how to reap the benefits of health IT.

Register for the Wisconsin HIE Summit

Seeing the right information at the right time helps providers to deliver effective care. Health information exchange can bring to light critical patient information that lies outside the four walls of your organization.

We'll shed light on a number of topics from care coordination with WISHIN to a comparison of HIE technology to exploring the power of data with analytics. Join us on November 9th, 2017, in the Wisconsin Dells to learn how real health care stakeholders in Wisconsin are benefiting from HIE and what's on the horizon.
