Directors Letter

Dear Chamber Members and Friends,

School is in full swing, the Great Solar Eclipse of 2017 has come and gone with a fun impromptu office celebration and now we are ready to settle into our Fall routine and get things rolling!

So, what will we be moving on?

First, we are going to have our 3rd and final Women In Business networking breakfast on September 8th from 7:45 am - 9:30 am. Don't forget to save that date! The final stages of our panelists choices are being moved forward as we speak. We are excited for the ladies that were chosen and can't wait to allow them to share their stories.  We are working diligently to get all the head shots collected so we can finish preparing the flyer and get registration open. Thank you for your patience during this process. It is quite a feat to coordinate so many schedules! Look for that flyer to be up and registration to be open by the end of the week. Don't miss this very last panel discussion. We have decided to forgo moving forward with the panel discussion next year and move forward with a business mixer instead due to our great feedback. We are always appreciative of the great folks who help us to ensure our programs are what our members need and want.

Second, we had a very successful Business After Hours at Quality Inn. Two individuals won one free night stay to check out the new look and share with their friends and family how great the upgraded look is. In addition, we were informed that all the hard work that the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and the Fulton County Tourism did to support not only the Quality Inn, but the Super 8 culminated in increased revenue for both locations which is great news for Fulton County. Sometimes it is nice to know that the hard work that you do does produce fruit. That said, don't forget to come out for the next Business After Hours which is scheduled for September 19th from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Lakeside Kitchen, LLC. Come celebrate with Christy and her team as they show off this new and improved restaurant in Nyona Lake. She will have a raffle and you be able to taste her wonderful creations. I had the honor of heading out to Nyona and eating at this great establishment and loved it. Please don't miss out on this opportunity to support one of our new Bronze Sponsors who is working hard to build up another part of our great County.

Next, we will meet for a second time with our Chili Cook-Off Committee today to finalize all our documents so we can open registration and begin taking vendor and team applications. We are pleased to announce that we have negotiated with our partner organization, The Black Top Cruisers, to gain more space for more chili teams. We were so very sad that we had to turn teams away last year so we are working diligently to ensure we don't have to do that this year! Keep your eyes peeled for the opening of our registration by the end of the month and get prepared for another year of fun.

Lastly, we are so close to having our plaques delivered, are moving forward on updating our Policy Manual, and preparing our budget for 2018. We are so excited for the future and continue to work hard to ensure that we are making decisions that will make a stronger organization for our County and for our members.

As always thank you for your continued support!

Blessed to be in Fulton County,

Life Care Center of Rochester, located at 827 W. 13th St., is more than just a nursing home. It offers traditional 24/7 skilled nursing services, but it also offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation - including physical, occupational and speech therapies. Many patients are able to do their therapy at the center and regain their independence after surgery or illness. The Ready... Set... Go! program helps patients prepare to safely make the transition home.
