Contra Costa's current Mental Health Services Act funding provides over $51 million to more than 80 mental health programs and services throughout our County.
The community is invited to provide input on local mental health care services at a public forum set for October 5th in Richmond. This meeting is one of several being held around the county and is hosted by Contra Costa Behavioral Health Services, which oversees our county's mental health care system.
This forum is a great opportunity to meet service providers and discuss issues relevant to providing mental health care services in our community.
The goal of these forums is to receive public input in developing the county's Three-Year Program and Expenditure Plan for the funding it receives under
the
Mental Health Services Act.
This Act was passed by California voters in 2004 as Proposition 63 and imposes a 1% income tax on those making over $1 million, with all revenue going for mental health services.
