We have had an exciting September around Lyon.  Our learning lab is up and running, we have goals to keep us moving forward, events are underway, and leadership opportunities for students are on the way!

THE CUBE

Lyon's new learning lab,The Cube, is ready for students.  Teachers and students have enjoyed utilizing this space for new learning, synergizing and creative thinking.

School Goals

Lyon's 2017-2018 focus areas will include:

Literacy

Math

Attendance

Discipline

Lyon staff are currently creating goals in each of the above areas.  Within each focus area we will cement processes and monitor growth to ensure we are meeting the needs of Lyon students.

You can help us by asking your child about his or her classroom goals, as well as, stopping by Lyon to check out our dashboards on our teal wall.  These dry erase boards will track progress towards meeting this year's goals.

Celebrations

Several Lyon 4th graders had the opportunity to visit Wilson's Creek National Battlefield on September 21 to show off their artwork.  These students, who were selected by peers, will potentially have their artwork in the annual Wilson's Creek calendar. Several special guests were also in attendance at this event.  Students had the opportunity to meet United States Secretary of the Interior, Ryan Zinke and Congressman Billy Long.

On September 14, Lyon student's attended a fun celebration at Sweeny for the American Heart Association (AHA).  Lyon student's who attended SLAM, our summer school this past summer, were spotlighted in the national production for the AHA.  It was fun to get to see Lyon students on the BIG SCREEN.  Click the image on the left to watch this video.
