This month Bailey & Wyant enjoyed all the activity September brought our way.

Mr. John Fuller and Mr. Chuck Bailey attended the West Virginia Chamber's Annual Meeting & Business Summit at The Greenbrier early this month. There was a sense of optimism among business leaders that WV economy is going to pick up. Many businesses in attendance were planning to invest in the state. Predominately those who associated with oil & gas business spoke about the multiple pipeline projects that were in plan for the state. Some of the projects have seen approval from regulatory authorities and others are waiting for approval. The consensus at the meeting was that that there was even an uptick in coal production and coal opportunities. Mr. Bailey and Mr. Fuller were able to meet and connect with many business leaders, to determine how the firm might assist in economic growth and expansion.

The WV Chambers began the conference discussing how to make West Virginia irresistible to business, featuring The Hon. Mitch Carmichael, President of the WV State Senate and The Hon. Tim Armsted, Speaker of the WV House of Delegates.Topics of discussion at the Business Summit included International Trade, Natural Gas Opportunities, Small Business and Tourism and their impact on WV. Attendance to the weekend was exceptional, with special guest speakers including Senator Joe Manchin III and Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Governor Jim Justice and high profile guest speaker U.S. Vice President Mike Pence who spoke to President Trump's plan for tax reform.

WVU College of Law's Dean's Partners Gala

Mr. Chuck Bailey  attended the WVU College of Law's Dean's Partners Gala in Morgantown earlier this month. The event was an honor and an opportunity for WVU College of Law to give thanks to its new and previous Dean's Partners. The occasion provided an environment to enjoy good conversation with good company.

The WVU College of Law is proud to serve as the state's law school, and the support from the Dean's Partners allows them to do what they do is critically important. In this time of great need, it's imperative that the state's legal profession stand united, which was very much on display at this year's gala.

The associate dean of the WVU College of Law commended the commitment and support of alumni and staff, and appreciated their level of pride in their school and it's continued work in the state of West Virginia.
