HENRIETTA - BAIS YAAKOV DOES KAPAROS
This week, Henrietta the Hen came with Mrs. Liora Rosen for her annual visit to Bais Yaakov  Elementary in preparation for Yom Kippur. This tradition which has become a rite of passage for our students was started by Reb Lipa Friedman z"l over thirty years ago to teach American children how Kapporos was done in the " Alter Heim". This hands-on activity certainly excites the students and makes for a " Leibedike Yiddishkeit".
STUDENTS ON THE GO
Building upon what we accomplished this past year with our Respect Program, we are now focusing on respectful behavior in the hallway. Classes are recognized for their efforts whenever they walk with dignity, safety and an indoor voice! They receive colored butterflies from administrators in the hallway and pin them to their classroom bulletin board. After filling their boards up with multiple butterflies they are acknowledged for their beautiful behavior.

PRESCHOOL OPEN HOUSE
We are proud to announce our Open House for the upcoming school year's Preschool Registration. This is our opportunity to showcase the school to returning and prospective new parents who are looking for a vibrant, growth-oriented institution with whom to partner in their daughter's chinuch.

We extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you to visit the Park Heights rustic campus for a beautiful afternoon to learn more about Bais Yaakov's Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten programs. Join us for a journey down the hallowed corridors of our building for a multi-sensory experience of "All Around The Community." We are confident you'll enjoy seeing our creative, talented and caring  Moros  in action as they greet and interact with your precious kinderlach.
KRIAHBILITY - IMPROVING OUR STUDENTS READING SKILLS
The Kindergarten and First Grade Moros have been attending multiple training sessions over the past few months to introduce a program that will help all our students improve their accuracy and fluency in Kriah. This is a uniform, kinesthetic approach to develop a gold standard for mastering all aspects of reading, which includes decoding letters, vowels and blending them together. The series of workshops were professionally recorded and given to each teacher for ongoing review. The program was developed by Mrs. Leah Wenger of Lakewood and is currently being used by over 10 schools. We are looking forward to seeing great results.

WE ARE HASHEM'S STARS
Rabbi Stein spoke with the Upper Elementary Division students about how special each of them is in the eyes of Hashem. Even with all the immeasurable parts of the world that the Ribbono Shel Olam judges during this time of year, none are more important to Him than his shining stars, the Yidden. The students then reflected on the blessings Hashem has granted them this past year. Enjoy a portion of the video shared at the assembly: Rosh Hashana Stars

TEHILLIM ASIFA
Misaskim's annual international Tehillim gathering took place on Tuesday, September 26th in the early afternoon. Our middle schoolers joined via hook up with thousands of other children throughout the country and said Tehillim together with those gathered in the Bobov Yeshiva in Boro Park, NY, beseeching Hashem to send a refua shelima, comfort and salvation to those in dire need. Misaskim coordinates this event every year to unite Klal Yisroel during these trying times. Especially now with all the unfortunate tragedies we are witnessing worldwide, we turn to Hashem for His infinite mercy.

MIDDLE SCHOOL G.O. OPENING ACTIVITY
G.O.'s opening activity was a great success. The entire middle school went to Rockin Jump in Towson, on Thursday, September 14th for an action packed afternoon.  Each year our opening activity is not only an opportunity to generate fun and excitement within the framework of school, but also to build a feeling of achdus and sensitivity to one another. Special thanks to our chaperones Mrs. Ciment, Mrs. Cohen, Mrs. Goldberg, Mrs. Gross, Mrs. Gottlieb, Mrs. T. Horowitz, Mrs. Hammelburger, Miss Lipsky, Mrs. Rothman, Mrs. Usdan and Mrs. Zweig.
