FAIR Education Now!

The fight for LGBTQ representation in our history books is not over yet. Please join us tomorrow, September 27th, in Sacramento as the Instructional Quality Commission will be meeting to publicly deliberate and decide on which instructional materials to recommend to the State Board of Education for adoption.  If you can't make it in person, you can still support theses efforts by sharing the event and submitting a public comment .

Victory as Graham-Cassidy-Heller stalls in the Senate! #Fight4OurHealth keeps its eyes on what's coming next.

Thank you for all your work! We won this round, as t he Senate has cancelled its scheduled vote on the Graham-Cassidy-Heller proposal to repeal the Affordable Care Act. However, we've seen repeal proposals revived enough times over the last year to know that this isn't over. Whether its a new reconciliation bill in 2018, or cuts to Medicaid in the federal budget, we'll be ready to mobilize and get you the tools and information you need to defend LGBTQ health.

Once again, your calls have made a difference - and our Senators abandoned a plan that would have devastated our health care system and hit LGBTQ Californians particularly hard.

We joined our friends at SEIU-UHW to call voters to defeat Cassidy-Graham.

We would love to hear about the great things you are doing in the community! If you have a program you think others could benefit from learning about, please let us know so that we can include you in our Member Spotlight

Are you hosting or participating in a conference, symposium, training, or other event in California? Please let us know and we will share it with the Network.

The California LGBT Health and Human Services Network is starting a blog and we'd love to have you - our community members - be guest writers. Do you have something to say about LGBTQ folks and the areas of health care, mental health, public health, sexual health, substance use, income inequality, or social services? Do you have resource suggestions or an organization accessible to the community that you would like to share? Would you like folks on the network to know about a community need or the great work you are doing? If the answer is yes to any of these, please contact us! You can submit content to our Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator at mtaylor@health-access.org
