We're off to a wonderful start to the new school year. It has been great meeting the new families and catching up with the old at the several events we've had this year - the back-to-school coffee, the RPA BBQ and back-to-school night. It looks to be a fun and exciting year for the Raskob community.
Speaking of events, we have our first RPA Parent's Social coming up on Saturday, October 7, 6:30-9:30pm. The theme is "Fall Fiesta: Tacos and Tequila". The event will be catered and we'll have a few bottles of tequila for tasting, but we ask that you bring something to drink if you plan to do so (wine, beer, etc.). You should have received an Evite for the event - the Evite link is also included below. Please respond to the Evite as soon as you have a chance, so that we can get an accurate headcount for planning. The event will be hosted by Vanessa and Brandon Bergmark at:
5330 Estates Drive
Oakland, CA 94618
The event is free, but it's a good opportunity to drop off your RPA dues if you haven't done so already (you can also leave it with Marlen at the front desk). Everyone is a member of the RPA, but we ask for a donation of $100 per child to cover our operating expenses for the year, which includes items such as welcome gifts for new families, holiday money for faculty and staff, cost for fall social and spring fundraising party, annual donation for library, teacher appreciation gifts, back to school BBQ and more. Our goal is 100% participation from the community and any amount is greatly appreciated.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Fall Fiesta. We can't emphasize enough how nice it is to see other parents in a non-school, non-child setting. We hope you can make it.
Cheers,
Phil & Mark
