Governance Update: Annual Report and Changes to Your Board of Directors     
The Board of Directors has dedicated the last year to making significant progress on the Strategic Plan, finalized at the 2016 ASM. Check out the Strategic Plan Update to see what they have been up to!

The 2017 AGM was held on July 14, 2017 in Ottawa. The Meeting brought change to the Board, as Daniel Rickey and Kyle Malkoske's terms ended.

IDMP 2017: Contest Details!        
November 7, 2017 marks the 150th birthday of Marie Curie. To celebrate, COMP is profiling 10 Fierce Female Medical Physicists from across the country over the next 10 weeks. The first of these profiles is ready for viewing here!

Of course there is a contest....following all 10 profiles COMP will be quizzing you on how closely you followed them! Those who answer all 10 questions correctly will be entered into a random draw for $250 in Curie Cash, used towards COMP membership or event registration. Stay tuned for the quiz, and check Sosido each week for the latest profile!

CPQR Update: Funding and Priorities through 2022      
CPQR has worked with partners and key stakeholders to develop an ambitious priority plan for the immediate future. Three new priority initiatives emerged from these discussions and will be the focus of the next 5 years:
  1. Equitable access to radiation treatment across Canada
  2. Patterns of radiation treatment practice
  3. The collection and utilization of patient reported outcomes to enhance treatment quality

The COMP Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM)      
With the highest attendance to date, the Ottawa meeting was a success and the feedback has been strong (congratulations to Eric Reynard, winner of the survey draw!). Thank you to all the speakers and volunteers (led by Young Lee) for their hard work and dedication, the bar continues to be raised!

Collaborating with AAPM: Awards and ASM Attendance  

Thank you to our special ASM guests, the AAPM Executive Committee who made the trek to Ottawa! This visit provided an excellent opportunity to discuss future collaborations. Looking forward to the joint ASM taking place July 12-15, 2020 in Vancouver, BC...mark your calendars!
