The Hub is Here! New Main Floor at WP Library
The final phase of the White Plains Library's renovations will deliver an improved first floor with new technology, renovated classrooms, a community meeting room, and a vibrant cafĂ© with outdoor seating on Martine Avenue.

The Library chose to call this area The Hub to reflect its role in bringing people together for learning, conversation and entertainment.

The first phase of the yearlong renovation, the Learning Center (at left) was finished several months ago, adding comfortable seating, tables and chairs for quiet study, and renovated conference rooms.

The Library also took advantage of the many windows along the perimeter of the building by installing bar-style counters with stools that look onto Library Plaza. Wifi has been strengthened and there are plenty of outlets for charging.

The Hub will be opened to the public in November.   Watch the Library website ( www.whiteplainslibrary.org ) for an invitation to the Grand Opening of the cafe.
Renaissance for Fountain at Ren Plaza
The leaping fountain at the Renaissance Plaza at Main and Mamaroneck is better than ever.  New songs, new lights, new jumping water feature, new computers, and a new sound system, have all been installed by the Department of Public Works. It's part of an all-new operating system that will keep the fountain running more efficiently and economically.  Find out more in this special video.
New Benches and Tables At White Plains Parks
Memorial tables and benches, donated by the Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body AFL-CIO, were recently unveiled at Liberty and Mattison Parks in White Plains. These serve as permanent memorials to those killed in workplace accidents.

Want to donate a bench in honor or memory of someone you know?  Contact Wayne Bass at the Department of Recreation and Parks.
