Representatives for Senator Van Hollen, Congressman Raskin and Council President Berliner will attend the Montgomery County Quiet Skies Coalition (MCQSC) meeting tonight, Thursday, October 12th.   Lori Aratani of the Washington Post has indicated that she will attend.  Avenel residents are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting, even if for a short time.  

 

It is important to show influential media like Ms. Aratani and our elected representatives who are taking action to address this issue that thousands of residents in Montgomery County are impacted by increased air traffic.  Media coverage is critical.  Come to the meeting to show how important this issue is to you, your family and the community.

Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh has recently received approval to file a lawsuit on behalf of the state of Maryland challenging the FAA's new flight paths and procedures at Reagan National and BWI Airports.  The Attorney General's Office is seeking outside counsel to assist in this effort.
