Hurricane Harvey: YOU are There!

A Note From Pastor Linda

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ~Isaiah 41.10

Dear Friends in Christ,

What in the WORLD is going on? And how can I help?
  • Hurricane Harvey: one of the most catastrophic storms to hit the country in more than a decade. The church is on the ground providing aid and collaborating with community leaders and officials to initiate proper responses, particularly the long-term recovery efforts.
  • Civil war and famine in South Sudan have caused nearly 5 million people to be food insecure. The church is working together with others for immediate famine relief. The church's long-term commitment to South Sudan is in sustainable food security, livelihoods, health and sustained ministry.
  • Nepal Area Earthquakes more than one year later the immediate response and recovery phase has transitioned to long-term recovery. Together with partners The Lutheran World Federation, United Missions to Nepal, Shanti Nepal and Lutheran World Relief, plans continue to help affected communities "build back better."
  • And more here

We are part of a bigger church, the ELCA- Evangelical Lutheran Church in America- that is a catalyst, convener and bridge builder. Through Lutheran Disaster Response, we collaborate with other disaster response organizations and religious entities in the United States and around the world. This enables the greatest stewardship of resources and maximum impact of response. We are a welcomed partner because we respect the perspectives and strengths of others.

Because Hosanna is part of the ELCA, you have helped. I have heard it said the Lutherans are the first in- but more importantly, the last out. This is what we do together. Able to give more? Click here

Together we are STRONGER!
 ~Pastor Linda

Remember: This Sunday one worship service at 9am in the Garden Chapel. Beginning September 10 we return to two services: 9am and 10:30am in the Great Hall.

This film tells the great adventure story of his life. At the same time it examines his quest for truth- questions we all must face- including "Who am I?"
