On the EDGE featuring
Molodi Live
Thursday, November 10
at 8:15 PM
Lane University Center
Manicur Assembly Hall
CES at Frostburg State University will present the electrifying step dancers of Molodi Live in its next On the EDGE series performance. The show will take place on Thursday, November 10 at 8:15 PM in the Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall of FSU's Lane University Center.
Using only their bodies as instruments, Molodi combines collegiate stepping, tap, gumboots, beatbox and poetry with guerrilla theatre. Interactive rhythms and crowd participation bridge the gap between the artists and the audience, who become essential participants in the performance. According to The Villager, "The soulful and energetically intense performance ... leaves the audiences in awe of their abilities to blend the traditional percussive dance forms."

Speaking OUT:
Queer Youth in Focus
Thursday, November 3 through
Wednesday, November 16
Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery
Fine Arts Building
Speaking OUT: Queer Youth in Focus is a photographic essay that collectively explores a wide spectrum of experiences told from the perspective of a diverse group of youth ages 14 to 24 identifying as queer(i.e. lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning). Portraits are presented without judgement and/or stereotype by eliminating environmental influence with a stark white backdrop. This backdrop acts as a blank canvas to be filled with each subject's point of view handwritten onto the final print. With more than 65 portraits photographed over a period of ten years beginning in 2001, Speaking OUT provides a rare insight into the ever evolving passions, confusions, prejudices, fulfillment, joys, and sorrows voiced by queer youth.
