Spotlight: Mill Place Commerce Park Highlights
Mill Place Commerce Park enjoyed a busy 2017 from construction throughout the Park to state grants aimed at an even stronger future. Construction updates include:
- Centerview Drive - Centerview Drive is located between Shamrock Farms and the in-construction InterChange building (future home to Sumitomo Drive Technologies). Centerview Drive will be in construction October through December and was partially funded by a VDOT grant. This new road will open access to many parcels in the southern portion of the Park.
- Blue Ridge Machine Works - Building materials are on site, and construction is imminent. The Park's sole machine shop is expected to be operational in 2018.
- InterChange Building/Future home to Sumitomo - Well under construction, InterChange's roof is on, fresh paint is coming, and construction is expected to be complete by December 2017.
By fall 2017, Mill Place Commerce Park will boast a new site characterization Tier 4 ranking achieved through the Virginia Business Ready Sites Program (VBRSP). The Park's development-ready status, reinforced by receiving VBRSP grants in the amount of $26,988, continues to strengthen, and we continue to market to prospects and showcase the Park's incredible assets.
