Call for Nominations for OML Board Seat for District 8
The OML District 8 Board seat is now open due to Randy Ross, Mayor of Choctaw becoming the new OML Board Vice President. Nominations will be received until Friday, October 27, 2017 and will be presented to the OML board of directors at their November 2nd  meeting.  More Information and Sample Resolution
2017 OML District Dinner Meetings
Join us for one of the District Dinner Meetings!  The first District Dinner is on October 5th in Ardmore at Cafe Alley!   This is a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with other municipalities in your district and hear  about the upcoming legislative session. Talk about this at your next council meeting and make your  RSVPs as soon as possible!    OML will facilitate the meeting where we will discuss the 2018 legislative session and share the latest  League news. Thank You For Attending The 2017 OML Annual Conference!
Over 400 municipal officials from across the state attended the Annual Oklahoma Municipal League (OML) Conference and Exposition, held September 12-14 in downtown Tulsa at the Cox Business Center. OML was also honored to have the Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund (OkMRF), the Municipal Electric Services Organization (MESO) and the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group (OMAG) as coalition partners in this yearly endeavor to bring a vast array of educational opportunities to Oklahoma officials. Mike Brown, the Mayor of Weatherford and OML Past President said "I thought the Annual Conference in Tulsa was the best ever, at least for the 21 years I've been attending. Great attendance, great sponsors, great speakers, great attitudes, and great planning! Congrats for a successful conference!"


2017 Award Winners Announced

  • Yukon Assistant City Manager, Tammy Kretchmar Named 2017 Don Rider Award Winner - Award Honors State's Most Outstanding Municipal Official (Press Release)
  • The Oklahoma Municipal Clerks, Treasurers and Finance Officials Association presented the Clerk of the Year Award to Bob Ponkilla of Oklahoma City

2017 Annual Golf Scramble
OML hosted the 27th annual golf tournament at the Canyon Park at Blackjack Ridge Golf Course in Sand Springs as one of the activities to kickoff conference. This year 77 golfers participated in what was a beautiful day of golf.  The winners with a score of 54, Anthony Rogers, Rod Alexander and Craig Stephenson. And a huge thank you to sponsors  Crafton Tull  for the lunch and prizes,  Cowan Group  for a golf hole,  Dunham Engineering  for two golf holes, and Al Weber from  United Technology Services  for the beverage cart.  
Pre-Conference Workshop Proves Popular
On September 12th OML held the annual Pre Conference workshop at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tulsa.  This year Ron Holifield, CEO, Strategic Government Resources presented Legacy Leadership.  Seventy delegates attended and learned practical leadership strategies.  Holifield has years of experience in city management and now helps local governments recruit top leaders, interim management, live and online training, leadership development and assessments, and consulting. 
 
Ron engaged the audience with real life situations of his time in city management and shared stories of the difficulties cities and towns often experience.  He brought humor to these situations and offered practical leadership strategies to address such issues.
 
OML would like to thank the delegates who attended and a big thanks to Ron Holifield for making this event a great success!  
A Home Run Fundraising Event for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma
Our coalition partners Oklahoma Gas Association ( OGA), Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund ( OkMRF), the Municipal Electric Services Organization ( MESO) and the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group ( OMAG) aided in the success of yet another conference fundraising event. Together, $3,240 was raised to donate to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. OMAG, MESO, and OkMRF staff managed the event and were responsible for collecting all of the funds and making sure the money was given to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma to help fight hunger. OML would like to sincerely thank OkMRF, MESO, and OMAG for their generosity and continued support of our annual conference.
2017 OML Annual Business Meeting
The Annual Business Meeting and Breakfast were held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the OML annual conference, where the proposed slate of Directors and Officers were approved as presented by the voting delegates in attendance . More Information
OMSC Signs Agreement With GrantFinder To Benefit OML Members
We are happy to announce that the Oklahoma Municipal Services Corporation (OMSC), the business arm of OML, has signed an agreement with GrantFinder to bring at a greatly reduced rate of $50 per year for an online tool to enable our members the access to over 7,500 grants.  The program allows municipalities to search for grants specific to their needs by utilizing 10 unique search filters.  More Details
