October Giving Items
Giving items for the month of October are Mac n Cheese for the Mission of Hope Shelter. Your donation may be left at the back entrance near the Welcome Center. Thank you for your generosity.
Open House for Pastor Craig
Please plan to attend an Open House for Pastor Craig's retirement on Friday evening, September 29th. A catered meal is being provided with BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and salads. The Open House will run from 5:00 to 8:00 with the meal served from 5:00 to 7:00. The location of this Open House is at the Hughes Horse Barn, 6004 76th Ave SW, Fairfax. (2 miles west of Edgewood Road on 76th Ave)
Please note the Open House is not at the Hughes' home or at the nursery. It is at the Hughes' Barn located at the above address.
Exit X Pizza Ranch Fundraiser
On October 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. we will have another Exit 10, SUMC Junior and Senior High youth ministry, fundraiser at Pizza Ranch in North Liberty. We are given 15% of all the proceeds Pizza Ranch brings in from people who present a ticket that will be available to pick up at the church within the next week. The youth will be at this event clearing tables and refilling glasses and we will have tip buckets available. 100% of tips will go directly to the mission trip! Thank you again for your continued support of Exit 10!
SUMC Survey Meeting
We had an outstanding response from the congregation on the recent survey that was taken, with a total of 204 surveys returned. Survey results were reviewed by the Ad Council during the September 25th meeting and have also been sent out via e-mail. If you would like a hard copy of the results, please stop by the Welcome Center in the lobby to pick up a copy. There will be a meeting on Monday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. for the full congregation to meet and review the results. During the meeting we will discuss how we continue to stay informed of the decisions being made at the denominational level and how we can maintain the sense of community and mission at SUMC.
Flood Relief
Next Sunday, October 8th is the last day to drop off items. At that time, we will inventory the items and schedule a "Fill the Bucket" day if there are enough items to warrant one.
