New kids in the Park: The Naughty Greek
St. Anthony Park Community Council is excited to announce a restaurant coming soon to University Avenue in the CEZ. Construction is underway for The Naughty Greek at University
. Coming from a family of over 30 years of Greek restaurant tradition and experience, owner Angelo Giovanis shares the taste of quality ingredients and traditional recipes from his home that he couldn't find when he moved here with his wife 18 years ago. After taking it upon himself and opening doors
on Snelling and Selby last year
, he looks forward to a larger location to expand catering to accommodate larger events.
Angelo tell us, "My kitchen is open and I passionately await to teach our Neighbors and friends the true meaning of a Greek Fresh Gyro, a fresh Greek Village salad, Tzatziki made from real Greek yogurt, Feta cheese actually made in Greece along with all of our other Greek ingredients."
As we watch construction across from the SAPCC office, we also look forward to trying a traditional Gyro, made fresh daily from local pork and traditional Greek seasoning with other authentic offerings.

A Walk in the Park
On September 13 St. Anthony Park was selected to host a "Walk in the Park" as part of the National Walking Summit
in St. Paul. We led visitors from across the country as far as East Harlem, New Jersey, and Oklahoma, as well as those from nearby Wisconsin. Walking from the Raymond Station, Hampden Park, Langford Park, and along Como Avenue, we shared a variety of work SAPCC has done to improve our neighborhood's walkability and other ongoing projects in St. Anthony Park. A huge thank you to Transportation Committee members John Mark Lucas for coordinating SAPCC's role in the summit, and Scott Jensen and staff for helping share our work with these visitors. Learn more about these and other projects of our Transportation Committee at www.sapcc.org.

SAPCC visits AIOIC Takoda Resources
SAPCC makes an effort to visit different organizations that provide services to our community. We visited last week's open house at the American Indian Opportunities Industrialization Center (AIOIC) located in Minneapolis on Cedar Avenue at the Franklin LRT station, easily accessible across the river from St. Anthony Park. We are excited to connect many students and job-seekers in our community with the great resources and programming they provide. Through vocational education, GED and post-secondary enrollment, as well as job training and job placement, AIOIC works to connect community members of all races and ethnicities with in-demand careers in business, healthcare, and information technology. Learn more at aioic.org.

Thank you for participating in community survey
Thank you to more than 400 community members who have contributed great ideas and challenges facing St. Anthony Park through the online Community Survey, and hundreds more who spoke with volunteers canvassing the neighborhood throughout the summer. This great feedback was achieved through the efforts of the SAPCC Equity Committee who worked to hear from people representing the many diverse experiences in our community.
Your ideas are guiding our committees as they draft the next 10-year plan to guide development across St. Anthony Park.
The next steps are for committees to draft goals and strategies to achieve our community's vision for the future
around transportation, housing, land use, environment, and equity in our community
. There will be public feedback sessions in November in locations in North and South St. Anthony Park to respond to these ideas and provide further input for our committees to reflect.
By gathering feedback from all the diverse voices in our community we will be able to advocate for and prioritize what our community wants as we guide development in our neighborhood over the next 10 years. Thank you for your ideas and support making St. Anthony Park a strong and sustainable community!
Did you miss the survey? You can still share your ideas!
