Did You Know?
The NIH has posted a new policy in support of the Next Generation Researchers Initiative, which is a partial implementation of the 21st Century Cures Act that calls for NIH to increase the opportunities for new researchers to receive funding and achieve research independence earlier in their careers. The policy defines Early Stage Investigators as a program director or PI who has completed a terminal research degree or post-graduate clinical training-whichever is latest-within the past 10 years. A separate definition has been established for Early Established Investigators, who are within 10 years of receiving their first R01.  More
