Title IV-A Heads Up

Your administrator received notification from the DPI regarding the availability of Title IV-A for 2017-2018. The WISH Center wants to inform you of availability of Title IV, Part-A Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) funding so that you could be part of the discussion as your school's application is completed. District allocations have been posted to the Every Student Succeeds Act website located here: https://dpi.wi.gov/esea/new-items-interest. Applications will be made through the WISEgrants Web Portal for Title IV, Part-A and are under development by the DPI.
There are three areas supported under Title IV, Part A, including 1) Well Rounded Educational Opportunities, 2) Safe and Healthy Students, and 3) Effective Use of Technology. More information to come next month.

Life Saving Skills Instruction Requirements for 17-18

Beginning in 2017-18 school year Wis. Stat. sec. 118.076 will require school districts to:
1. Provide CPR and cardiocerebral resuscitation (CCR) to 7-12 grade students in any health education course using an instructional program developed by the ARC, AHA or another national recognized program. 
2. Shall incorporate into the instruction the psychomotor skills necessary to perform
CPR and CCR.
3. Provide instruction about AED's to 7-12 grade students.

DPI Student Mini-Grants Due October 13, 2017

The AODA Student Mini-Grant Program allows students to submit proposals/projects, with costs up to $1,000, each fall. For more information regarding Student AODA Mini-Grants go to the following link: AODA Mini-Grant.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training of Trainers-2 Dates

October 23-27, 2017, CESA #6 Oshkosh

March 19-23, 2018, CESA #4 West Salem


Together with the DPI, the WISH Center is holding a Youth Mental Health First Aid TOT at CESA #6 in Oshkosh on October 23-27, 2017. Participants must complete the application process and attend all 5 days of training.
