Megan Hathaway

Megan Hathaway grew up in Charlotte County, Virginia and graduated from Randolph Henry High School.  She earned a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from Southside Virginia Community College and became a CNA in 2009, the same year she graduated high school.  She later returned to SVCC and completed her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing in 2016.

Since graduating from SVCC, Megan has received her ACLS, acute care and TNCC certifications, started her career, and purchased her first home. She currently works as a Registered Nurse in the emergency department at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital and plans to begin classes in the near future to obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing.

Megan offers advice to students, "Never give up on your dreams even when life gets in the way. I've always wanted to be a nurse and help people in their most vulnerable times. As long as you have a strong support system and strong motivation anything is possible."  She is pictured above with an important part of her support system, her son, Greyson.
