There will be a School Smarts Parent Engagement Night on Tuesday, September 19th from 6:30pm-8:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room.   The entire family is invited.  Dinner will be served, there will be a fun family art project and childcare will be provided.

 

School Smarts is an award winning program that helps parents understand the education system and thus helps their children succeed in school.   The program offers a seven-session parent academy  t hat educates and empowers parents. Topics include understanding the education system, communicating effectively, advocating for a quality education, and the importance of parent involvement.

The coupons are in a box on the table- It's the honor system, so please only take 1 if you have an individual PTA membership or 2 if you have a family membership!

A small group of Walnut Grove parents have taken it upon themselves to come up with ways that Walnut Grove, as a community, can support Texas schools that were damaged as a result of Hurricane Harvey.   

After much research, they have found a small school district with 5 schools in Rockport, Texas to help.  You will be receiving more information on these fundraising efforts in the very near future, but in the meantime, we encourage you to "like" the Facebook page that was created and talk to your kids about some creative ways they think they could help raise money to rebuild the schools in Rockport.

Also, mark your calendars for a Bake Sale taking place after school on Wednesday, September 27th. If you would like to help out or donate items for the sale, please contact [email protected]

We are a compassionate, generous community and together, we can make a bigger impact by focusing on the schools in Rockport, Texas.

Amador is having a Cheer Clinic on Sept. 23rd! This clinic will be run and instructed by the Amador Varsity Competition Cheer Squad and the game day portion will be run with the assistance of Varsity Cheer.

 

Kids will learn cheers, dances, games and enjoy lunch with our competition cheerleaders. On game day, September 29th, they will be invited to perform during half time at the 7:00PM varsity game!
