There has been so much turmoil in our country & the world with all the natural disasters that have occurred recently. It can leave us feeling fearful, anxious & uncertain.
The significant loss & devastation can feel so overwhelming to all of us as we see so many people in great distress. How can we respond to such tragedy & loss?
I was blessed to recently study with one of my favorite teacher & scholars, Dr. Bill Mahony, a yoga philosophy expert. He offered that the opposite of fear is trust. That when we feel fearful & anxious, we want to practice remembering what we trust.. Remembering what we know. That will always bring us back to Love, Divine Love & all the qualities of Divine Love. What do you trust? Just take a moment & ask yourself this question... We trust our experiences of Love, Kindness, Compassion, Integrity, Generosity, Gratitude. These are all attributes of Love. These are all qualities we admire in ourselves & in others, right? Our hearts innately yearn to elevate our awareness & consciousness & increase our capacity to live these qualities more each day.
It is so humbling to witness how in the midst of tragedy & disaster, that it brings out the best qualities in all folks. The heart naturally longs to be of service to others. We hunger for connection & seek to help ease the burdens & heartaches of others. That is the result of the natural pulsation of Love, expanding more & more. May we practice remembering what we Trust & be comforted by the decency, compassion & generosity of each of us as we recover from all the disasters.
Our practices on the mat remind us to remember the gift of our breath to guide us to these higher vibrational energetic states. Allowing & following our breath will safely transport us to all manifestations of Love. Keep coming back to an awareness of your breath. Trust your breath to guide & inspire you to connect & align with your highest Self.
