I hope you had a truly delightful summer! Where have I been? First, I want you to know I have missed connecting with you and sending my weekly email of encouragement. Why? I have been re-prioritizing my life and finally after 3 years of saying it, I started really taking care of myself. I am finally dancing in a playground that allows me to be happier, healthier and more joy-filled these days!
Do you recall my past newsletters that talk about my anxiety or overwhelm? You probably do. And I started being proactive about it. After all, being the Founder of The Wellness Universe, I can't go through life with the chronic pain, anxiety and constant overwhelm I was feeling. And the only one that can change that is me.
I am positive and can see opportunity and love to encourage and inspire, yet parts of my well-being was starting to slip away.
One thing changed all of that! Putting myself first.
Once I did that I knew what I NEEDED to do for ME so I can be my best for all around me and who believe in me. Again, after all, creating The Wellness Universe with over 2200 World-Changing people who trust in me and Shari my business partner and Co-founder to give them what we promise is a huge undertaking! And I do love it.
So, what did I do? I started walking.
Back in May I began doing 5 mile walks outdoors. During my walking I practice conscious breathwork. Not only am I getting physical exercise and a nice tan I am clearing my mind, releasing tons of 'mental garbage'.
Being out and walking in nature, helps me to not only clear my head, it helps me to elevate my mood, sleep better and feel more joy filled. I feel, aside from the physical benefits we all know about, that it really cleans out my mind. Those extra little thought remnants we don't even know are there lurking in the crooks of our subconscious until they build up, and manifest into something ugly, like the thoughts that lead to anxiety.
Now I try to do between 6 and 7 miles on my walk. I don't have a strict diet, I do eat healthy, but if I want to have some dessert, or chips (a small amount) I go for it!
I didn't get on a scale when I started and still haven't. From the past, I have learned to avoid obsessive and addictive behavior because I put so much emphasis on the number on the scale. Not making myself crazy is part of being healthy. Balance is key and knowing how to approach my goal so I stick to it is just as important. All my life I relied on that scale. Not this time.
This time my goals were: Reduce and eliminate chronic pain I have been having in several areas of my body due to being behind a computer 7 days a week, at least 12 hours a day, lose weight and FEEL better, happier and fit back into my clothes.
I had 1 daily practice that made me stick to this routine. Just ONE thing makes me get up and go walking at least 4-5 times a week. Please join my
Facebook Live to find out what I do and you can too, to stick to your goals.
You see, none of the pain I went through, none of the weight I put on, none on the beautiful clothes I owned that didn't fit anymore was motivating me. I had to do this one thing every singe day! I hope you can join me so I can share it with you, today. It will be recorded and on my page if you miss me live.
I believe you are extraordinary. Be sure you are living it too.
Sending you bright, beautiful blessings!
Big Hugs
