MeetMeet the Author Speaker Series Finale and Massachusetts Book Award Winner

KATE CLIFFORD LARSON is the author of three critically acclaimed biographies: Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy DaughterBound for the Promised Land: Harriet Tubman, Portrait of an American Hero and The Assassin's Accomplice: Mary Surratt and the Plot to Kill Abraham Lincoln. She has been a consultant and interpretive specialist for numerous museum and public history initiatives focusing on the lives and contributions of women in the making of our national identity.

Dr. Larson holds two degrees from Simmons College, an MBA from Northeastern University and a PhD from the University of New Hampshire. She currently lives in Winchester, Massachusetts.

Join us in welcoming Kate Clifford Larson to the Rockport Public Library as she presents her newest biography Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter, winner of the 2016 Mass Book Award.

Dr. Larson will be offering copies of her book for sale and signing at the conclusion of the program.

Join game host Justin Marshall for an exciting evening of gaming fun! Every meeting a different group game will be taught and played.

While we will be playing games recommended for ages 8+ everyone is welcome. Other board games will also be available or feel free to bring your favorite.

Creative Writing Workshop

Write a poem and share it with the group. All levels are welcome.

Jim Scrimgeour is Professor Emeritus at Western Connecticut State University and facilitator for this creative writing group. During the last 20 years he has written over a poem per week and has come to understand the importance of working "en plaine aire." According to his bio, Jim is especially interested in exploring the relationship between landscape and consciousness.
