September 03 ~ "The Kingdom of Heaven"

In this two-part series, we'll look at ways to find and enter the "Kingdom of Heaven." According to the Bible, it's mentioned over 100 times by Jesus. People of his day may have been envisioning this "kingdom" to be a reprieve from all worldly troubles -- an event that would happen at some distant time. Over centuries, others have assumed this heavenly kingdom was a destination after life in the body -- with a not-so-heavenly alternative for "non-religious rascals"! In Unity, as we interpret the Bible metaphysically and while considering the beautiful layers of meaning in Jesus' poetic Aramaic language, we can realize the "Kingdom" is not far-off, unreachable, or a possible reward after life. Simply put, it is within. And being playful, like children, is one of the ways to enter it.
We are delighted to have Dr. Damaris Drewry sharing her music with us for the first time at Unity Athens. She has performed in numerous Unity and New Thought churches and public venues, including The Classic Center. Dr. Drewry is an expert in the fields of Sound and Vibrational therapy, "Beyond Talk Therapy," and is a workshop presenter and private counselor.
