St. Paul's Church

August 31, 2017

Jesus said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
(Luke 10:12)

For those of you who attended the congregational meeting this past Sunday, you are already aware of the great work that is being done by many to prepare for the opening of the Flamevine church.  We're especially grateful for Robbie Walker's leadership as Chair of the Flamevine Opening Committee.  Building Committee Chair Toby Arnheim has told us that we are still anticipating a Certificate of Occupancy (C.O.) from the City of Vero Beach "sometime in mid October."

Not until we receive the C.O. will certain tradesmen be able to finish their work.  Not until we receive the C.O. will we be able to start moving in furniture.  With this in mind, it appears that our first Sunday worshipping in the new building will be November 5th.  Obviously, if everything goes faster than we anticipate, we could possibly be in there earlier.  As any of us with any experience in construction know, rarely do things go faster than we anticipate.  Please keep the prayers coming!

We believe the timing is in the Lord's hands.  He knows how much work remains in the preparation process.  We are receiving various reports that many people in the community are excited about our opening, and are planning to visit.  As the saying goes, "You only get one chance to make a first impression."  We need everyone at St. Paul's to help us welcome people well.  If visitors feel loved by the Body of Christ, and if they experience the Presence of the Holy Spirit, they'll be excited to come back.  Again and again.  There's nothing that this world offers like the love of Jesus and the Presence of the Holy Spirit.

If you have not signed up to volunteer, would you do so as soon as possible?  We will have sign up sheets each week in church, or you can call Norma in the church office.   And please "pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."  Please access the attached links to see the handouts from Sunday's meeting.

What an exciting time to be serving the Lord of the harvest!

Gratefully in Christ,

Pr. Jon
