Uniform Exchange

We are very appreciative of our parents who maintain the organization of our Uniform Exchange closet!  We want to let you know that Mrs. Heger will be here at school each Tuesday and Thursday morning between 8:30 - 10:00 am to help you either choose or donate gently used uniform attire.

IMPORTANT: Any uniform attire you would like to donate must be brought to the school office in an effort to keep the closet organized. Also, we are no longer accepting white polo shirts as a donation. In addition, the Lost & Found items will be placed in a bin labeled "Lost & Found" and will be stored in the Uniform Exchange closet.
Thank You!

September 1, 2017

Dear Parents,

"The secret of happiness is to live
moment by moment and to thank God
for all that He, in His goodness,
sends to us, day after day."

 St. Gianna Molla

What a spirited first day we all had at St. Aloysius School!  New families enjoyed a wonderful cocktail reception on Monday in Stapleton. God sent us beautiful weather for our flag raising ceremony.  The students and teachers were smiling, new uniforms were pressed and looking sharp, sneakers were white, students were donning new haircuts and yes, we did have a student lose a tooth on the first and second day of school!

This Sunday, September 3rd, we will be conducting an Emergency Alert System Test at 6:00 p.m.  You should receive a text, voice mail and email.  If you do not receive any one of the above communications, please call or email the main office and provide the correct information.

In addition, next week we will be conducting a fire drill. Please talk to your children about the importance and safety of being prepared and to follow the direction of the teacher.

As we have mentioned, we will be going through our Accreditation this year.  This process requires much collaboration between families and the school.  A very useful part of that process requires us to assess and refine our communication.  We ask that you pay particular attention to 2017-2018 Family Handbook.   This handbook is a very valuable tool which will help you navigate through all of the nooks and crannies of St. Aloysius School.

If you have not received it yet, you will receive it at Back-To-School Night on Thursday, September 7th, or you can email [email protected] for a copy.  After reading, please return the signed "Parent/Student Signature Page" to indicate that you have reviewed our school policies and procedures.

Additionally, it is very important for us to have accurate attendance for all students.  If a parent takes a child from school prior to 2:30 p.m., we must receive a doctor's note the following day. If it is not for a doctor's appointment, it will be considered either an unexcused tardy or unexcused early dismissal.

Please note that we have a new email address for all office correspondence.   It is:  [email protected]

If you have any contributions for our weekly newsletter, please send them the Thursday of each week to:  [email protected]

So as the memories of summer begin to fade, we commit ourselves to making memories, as a community, at St. Aloysius School. I value your unending support and thank you for choosing St. Aloysius School to educate your children during these very important formative years.

God Bless You!

Mr. Bardhyl Gjoka
Principal

Terra Nova Test Result Update

Welcome Back Letter from Mr. Gjoka

Upgrades

There have been many exciting upgrades to our building.   Six new backboards/hoops have been installed, new projectors in several classrooms, new whiteboards in upper school classroom, and the PA system has been extended to reach the playground, computer room art and gymnasium.

Additional upgrades have been made throughout the building.  The building has been cleaned thoroughly, and our shiny new floors and new carpets are beautiful.  Additional signs and logo boards with our new mission statement can be found throughout the building for our upcoming accreditation.  Additionally, we have two new copy machines!

Lastly, Mr. Lance Brevard will be joining us as our security guard.  He will now be present at our school entrance and/or for evening events as needed.  As a former officer, Mr. Brevard retired after 30 years in law enforcement, and his extensive background includes work in the field of Traffic Enforcement, Investigation and Officer Training and certification.  In addition to formal police work, Mr. Brevard has been a computer consultant and has worked extensively in private security.  He is also very involved in youth sports, coaching football, basketball and baseball, and serves as the vice president of the AYF football organization in New Milford, where he currently resides, and where he raised his three sons since 2003.
