HISTORY ON THE BRICKS, FORT WORTH STOCKYARDS
Courtesy of the North Fort Worth Historical Society
Courtesy of the North Fort Worth Historical Society
The old wooden Exchange building was torn down and in 1903 construction began on the $125,000, two-story stucco Spanish style Livestock Exchange Building that still stands today. The beautiful new building housed several Stockyards offices, The Stockyards National Bank, five railroad offices, 12 commission companies, a dining hall, telegraph office and a post office.

The Stockyards are a wonderful recognition of Cattlemen and Cowboys steeped in the tradition  of the American West; a place today doing primarily the same thing we were doing over 100 years ago.
Cattle drives, rodeo, steam train, honky tonks, great places to shop and eat and more.

Thank you for taking the time to support our history and culture.

Sincerely,

Fort Worth Stockyards
