Matt Greene
Los Angeles Kings
This month's player spotlight is on retired LA Kings' defensemen, Matt Greene. After his first year at the University of North Dakota, Matt was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.  Matt enjoyed two more seasons with the Fighting Hawks before joining the Oilers in 2005. Four seasons later, Matt was traded to Los Angeles. Through his integrity, professionalism and commitment, Matt was quickly established as a leader on a young team.
Fast forward nine seasons and two Stanley Cup Championships, Matt  is transitioning to a management role with the Kings after two injury-plagued campaigns. Click the link below to read more about Matt's new assignment as a pro scout.

Wags & Walks  Benefit Gala
Arena Contractor's Fined $2.9M
On 16-Sep-17, the Wags & Walks Foundation will host its 7th annual Benefit Gala in Beverly Hills, California. Guided by their mission to save family-friendly dogs, the Wags & Walks Foundation will use event proceeds to open their first ever adoption center in West Hollywood. As a headline sponsor, GMG encourages everyone to learn more about the foundation and take part in the various ways you can help donate. 
Next season, the Detroit Red Wings will open play at Little Caesars Arena. As the building nears completion, contractors of the $892M project face fees totalling $2.9M.  As a part of the agreement, local government exchanged their funds for promise that Detroit residents would make up 51% of the building crew. Falling well short, building contractors are now required to pay fees to help boost the city's workforce. Click below to read more.

ARTICLE 14.3: MOVING EXPENSES

A Transferred Player shall be reimbursed for the reasonable moving expenses, regardless of whether the move occurs during the off-season or during the playing season, (must be within 12 months after the transfer date). "Reasonable moving expenses" include the costs of moving an automobile. The Club obligated to make such reimbursement shall have the right to select the moving company, including choosing a moving company with which it has a business relationship with.
