Join the Kids Fun Run, part of the 27th annual Mayor's 5K Run/Walk in the fight against ovarian cancer.

Crochet Club: Fridays, Sept. 8 and Sept. 22 from 2:30pm-4pm 
Due to the popularity of our summer Crochet for a Cause program, we're continuing a crochet club into the fall!  All ages and skill levels are encouraged to attend, especially children and teens! Learn a new craft or help others enjoy a hobby you've been doing for years. Bring the whole family! Please B.Y.O.N (bring your own needles).

Hispanic Heritage Month Children's Program:  Monday Sept. 25, 4pm-5pm
Stop by the library before the flag raising ceremony at Town Hall for Hispanic Heritage Month and join Jesse Rivera on a musical trip to Spanish speaking countries through stories and songs.

And...BOOK CLUBS ARE BACK! 
Kids who come to our September meetings will be able to pick up the October book and meet other book club members. Plus there will be snacks and fun activities! Registration Required.

S.T.E.A.M. Club!: Tuesday Sept. 26, 4pm-5pm.
Children age 8-12 engage in hands-on science, technology, engineering, art and/or math related activities!

Child Development Workshop:  Friday, Sept. 29, 10:30am-11:30am.
Presented by Family Link, this workshop will address questions such as: What is child development? How is my child developing? When do I need early intervention? Where do I go for more information? Please register.

September Programs for Teens!
 
TAG Teen Advisory Group:  Wednesday, Sept. 6, 7pm-8:30pm
Attend the first Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meeting of 2017-2018! We'll welcome back old members, greet new ones, and chat about what lies ahead. TAG members are more than library volunteers. They are passionate about and dedicated to making sure the library is meeting the needs and wants of teens in the community. TAG members are highly reliable and committed to being actively involved with the library. (Age 16+)

NEW!!! Teen Open Mic Night: Wednesday, Sept. 13, 7pm-8:30pm
Are y ou a storyteller, stand-up comic, actor/actress, singer, musi cian, poet or a nother creative type? Do you w ant a place to p ractice your craft in front of a  fri endly audience? Do you like to attend creative get-togethers? Then come to our first monthly teen open mic night at the library! Plus we'll have refreshments! (Grades 6-12)

Teen Game Night: Wednesday, September 20, 7pm-8:30pm
Back for another year! Hangout and play a tabletop game, bring your DS or compete against other teens on the big screen Wii-U! ( Grades 6-12)

NEW!!!  Teen Talk: Youth in Solidarity: 
Wednesday, Sept. 27, 7pm-8:30pm
Join us for our first Teen Talk, a new monthly club where teens can come together in solidarity. Each month will feature a different topic related to current issues / topics or areas of teen concern.  The library's teen advisory group will be instrumental in launching/running the program. This will be a safe space for teens to share their thoughts and be free to be whoever they are!

Dungeons and Dragons: Wednesdays Sept. 13, 20 and 27, 4pm-6:30pm 
Epic quests await teens who join our ongoing Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) club at the library! DnD features roleplaying, storytelling, on-the-spot strategic thinking, math skills, problem solving, and team work all rolled into one!  Weekly on Wednesdays  4p-6:30pm. (Teens 13+) ( Registration required. Space limited.)

Filmmaker Abe Kasbo will present his film, The Arab Americans. The film covers almost 200 years of contributions to the United States by Middle East, North Africa and Arabian Peninsula immigrants. A discussion will follow with Mr. Kasbo and Seton Hall professor Phil Kayal, PhD.
