THE 2017 RDGA FALL PLAY DAYS
ARE COMING!

There's less than one month to go before the annual
RDGA Fall Play Days tee off at
Brook-Lea Country Club on Monday, September 25 and at
Irondequoit Country Club on Monday, October 2 -
which means that you only have 3 weeks left to sign up at www.RDGA.org!!
Registration is $85 per person and includes use of the club's practice facility; a cart and 18 holes of stroke play at 100-percent handicap; as well as prizes by flight and hors d'ouvres after the tournament. Contestants are welcome to request pairing in foursomes with friends who are also registered to play.
Women RDGA members: Please note that
BOTH RDGA Fall Play Days also include points towards the
RDGA Women's Player of the Year Award

THE 2017 RDGA WOMEN'S OPEN
FIELD HAS BEEN EXPANDED!

The
Rochester District Golf Association is excited to announce that
Irondequoit Country Club will be hosting the fourth annual
RDGA Women's Open this year - bringing together women golfers of all abilities in the spirit of competition and cameraderie!
JUST ANNOUNCED: The field for the 2017 RDGA Women's Open
has been expanded to 100 players - opening up eight more spots.
Scheduled for Monday, September 11, the
2017 RDGA Women's Open is an event for all women who have an active
USGA-GHIN Handicap Index provided by an
RDGA Member Club. The format will consist of 18 holes of stroke play - with multiple flights, so that players will be competing against other players of similar abilities. The
2017 Women's Open will be contested from
Irondequoit CC's Yellow Tees at 5,436 yards and a par of 74.
There will be an overall
Low Net Score winner and
Overall Gross Score winner. Each will receive a trophy to display at their home clubs for the next year and the top 10 gross score finishers - regardless of flight - will be awarded points towards the
RDGA Women's Player of the Year award, to be announced at the end of the season. Flight winners' prizes will be awarded to approximately one third of the field.

HARRIS COMPLETES 'SENIOR SWEEP;'
WINS 2017 RDGA SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP at CCR

The two-day, 36-hole 2017 RDGA Senior Championship concluded on Wednesday, August 30, with final round action at the Country Club of Rochester.
Winning the overall RDGA Senior Championship title (by posting the low 36-hole score between the Senior (55-59) and Super Senior (60-64) divisions), was Stuart Harris of Locust Hill Country Club. Harris put together rounds of 75-71 over the two-day championship for a 6-over-par total of 146 to win the 2017 RDGA Senior Championship by two shots over Paul Roland....

VICTOR HILLS HOSTS SPECIAL FORESIGHT
TOURNAMENT FOR JUNIORS;
FORESIGHT FINAL TOURNAMENT
SET FOR SEPTEMBER 9

Some of the 26 junior golfers, ages 7 to 18, who participated in the special RDGA Foundation Inc. ForeSight Tournament, hosted by Victor Hills Country Club on Saturday, August 19.

On Saturday, August 19, Victor Hills Country
Club
hosted a special tournament for boys and girls enrolled in the RDGA Foundation Inc.'s ForeSight program.
The special tournament opened with practice at the Victor Hills range for all ForeSight participants, followed by a 9-hole tournament on the Victor Hills Executive Course and lunch in the clubhouse following golf.
These activities were provided free of charge, courtesy of Victor Hills Golf Club. Complementary golf balls and tees donated by members were also provided to participants. Highlights included a near hole in one by one of the girls and a sand save by one of the boys.
The 2017 ForeSight schedule concludes on Saturday, September 9, with the ForeSight Final Tournament, hosted by Genesee Valley Golf Course, beginning at 10 a.m. The event is free to all ForeSight participants and parents are welcome to attend the event to watch and encourage their children.

U.S. KIDS GOLF ROCHESTER FALL TOUR
COMING IN SEPTEMBER!
The
RDGA Foundation Inc.'s ForeSight tournament schedule will be ending soon -
but junior golf in Rochester isn't over yet for the 2017 season!
The Rochester District Golf Association is pleased to pass along the announcement that
U.S. Kids Golf
- a nationally-based organization promoting junior tournaments - is bringing their
U.S. Kids Golf Local Tour
to
Rochester for a
6-event
Fall Tour
, beginning on September 10!
This
U.S. Kids Golf Rochester Fall Tour
will be open to boys and girls, ages 5 to 14, providing opportunities to learn and play golf in age-appropriate competitions.
The schedule will be as follows:
- Sept. 10: Mill Creek Golf Club (Registration closes Sept. 5)
- Sept. 17: The Golf Club at Blue Heron Hills (Registration closes Sept. 12)
- Sept. 24: Eagle Vale Golf Club (Registration closes Sept. 19)
- Oct. 1: Shadow Lake Golf Club (Registration closes Sept. 26)
- Oct. 7: Churchville Golf Course (Registration closes Oct. 2)
- Oct. 8: Ravenwood Golf Club (Tour Championship) (Registration closes Oct. 3)
