Prayer Requests:
- Pray for the church to be refined by rooting out syncretism, false teaching, and idolatry.
- Pray for indigenous mission agencies to establish bases which send workers to an increasingly Muslim population.
- Pray for an end to the evils of rampant child trafficking, prostitution, and exploitation of the poor.
- Pray for Anani (our Compassion International sponsored child)...for his physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to be met (that he would have a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ).

| Important Parent Alert Notification System - Action Required |
As was introduced at Parent Orientation nights, Heritage is implementing a new notification system this year through Renweb called Parent Alert. This will allow us to send text messages to the entire school body for weather related closings and delays, emergencies, last minute information, etc. We need your help to ensure this system is effective and information reaches everyone in a timely fashion. It is important that each of you do the following:
- If you do not already have a Renweb account, please create one for your family. Renweb account set up instructions.
- If you already have a Renweb account, log in, click on Family Information and click on both parents' contact information to verify all the information is correct. If something has changed, please let the office know.
- We are currently set up to send notifications by text. If you are not able to receive text messages, please let the office know so we can set up an alternative means to communicate with you.
- We will be sending out a test message next Wednesday, September 6 at 12pm ("This is a test of Heritage Christian School's Emergency Parent Alert System.") If you do not receive that text message, please let us know, otherwise we will assume everything is working.

| Heritage Singers/Jubilate Information |
2nd-8th grade parents should carefully read the informational letter in their child's Friday Folder pertaining to Heritage Singers and Jubilate. ALL 2nd-8th GRADE STUDENTS should return a form, indicating if they are participating in Heritage Singers/Jubilate or not. Please turn these forms into the office by Monday, September 11. Feel free to contact Miss Early ([email protected]) or Amy Sherman ([email protected]) with any questions you have regarding Heritage Singers/Jubilate.

| Chess Club Begins Friday, Sept. 22, 7-8 a.m. |
We're excited to kick off Heritage's first ever chess club this fall!
Who: Open to all students in 2nd-8th grade. Tony Nahra (parent volunteer) will serve as coach and Miss Mysnyk will be our faculty sponsor.
When: Friday mornings from 7-8am beginning September 22.
Where: Middle School Science Classroom (Miss Mysnyk's room)
No prior experience needed!

 Please read the informational letter found in your Friday folder today (youngest student of the family only), regarding our desire as a school to "Pray for the Nations" throughout this year. There is also a World Prayer Map to use as a guide to help you as you pray for the nations. EACH student will also be getting their very own picture of Anani, our Compassion International child that we sponsor as a school. Check your weekly newsletters for updated information on what country we are praying for as a school.

| Opportunities to Support Heritage/Earn Cash for our School |
There are a few different programs that Heritage participates in that can earn cash for our school or help with your own tuition dollars.
- Amazon Orders: Simply log onto smile.amazon.com and shop as normal. The first time you log on it will ask you what charity you would like to support and you can select Heritage. For every qualifying purchase, Amazon will donate .5% back to Heritage.
- Boxtops for Education: Clip boxtops from hundreds of different products and turn them in to your child's classroom. Each boxtop is worth 10 cents for our school!
- Hills Bank Classroom Cash: Just by using your Hills Bank debit card, you can earn money for Heritage. With every purchase, the bank will make a donation back to the school at various times throughout the year. There is no cost to you. To find out more or to sign up for the program click here.
- TRIP/SCRIP: You can purchase gift cards to your favorite retailers and earn a rebate towards your tuition. There are hundreds of retailers available. For additional information about the program, visit our website.

| Volunteer Screening Process Information |
If you anticipate volunteering at Heritage at any point this year (driving for field trips, serving lunch, coaching, etc.), you will need to complete a Volunteer Application/Background Check. This can be done online at our website (bottom left of the home page, click on the Volunteer Application button) or
click here.
Even if you did this last year, you will need to do it again for this school year. Once you bring up the application, choose the Volunteer option at the bottom and then choose whether you would like to have driving responsibilities or not and proceed with the application. Remember that for driving you will also need to turn a copy of your drivers' license and current insurance declarations page (showing policy limits, dates of coverage, name and vehicle(s) insured) to Kathy in the office ([email protected]). The Eagles Soccer team played in the Cougar Classis Soccer Tournament on Saturday. The Eagles played 4 games in the tournament and have started the season off with a record of 2-2. The Eagles finished in 4th place overall. Way to go Eagles! We would also like to thank all of the fans who came out to cheer on the Eagles. We appreciate your support!
Fall sports pictures will be on Thursday, September 14 at 3:30 pm. Picture forms were passed out at practice this week. Please make sure your student has their completed picture form, their uniform, shoes, socks, shin guards, and kneepads on picture day.
