Our mission at Grace Lutheran Church and School is to bring in, build up, and send out disciples for Jesus Christ. Our school prepares children for a life of discipleship by helping them to grow in faith, knowledge, and character.
What a great turn-out on Wednesday evening for Curriculum Night. Thanks to everyone who attended. Good communication and a strong partnership between parents and teachers helps students succeed. I hope you found the evening to be informative and beneficial.
Morning drop-off instructions: The drop-off lane is for families whose kids can get out of the car on their own. This allows for the line to keep moving. If you wish to exit your vehicle to help your kids get out of the car, please park beyond the drop-off lane. If you wish to leave your car and walk your children into the building, please park on Division Street or in the surface lot between our building and the parking garage. Thanks for helping us ease the congestion between 7:45 and 8:15am. Have a great weekend!

After School Enrichment Program will begin its fall session the week of September 18. This season includes several exciting options covering a range of topics in 4 or 8-week sessions. Check out all class offerings described in this

Enrichment classes fill up quickly! Classes will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Crossing Guard: We are in need of a crossing guard on Tuesdays, 2:55-3:15pm. No experience necessary for this great way to enjoy the weather and interact with our students and parents! Contact the school office if you are interested in volunteering for this position.
Attention all fourth through eighth grade students! All students in grades four through eight are able to participate in the band. No experience necessary! Walk with Grace
is Grace’s annual walk-a-thon fundraiser. We are moving this event to the fall, so it is right around the corner on Friday, October 6
th
. The money we raise through this event helps support our educational programs, quality instructors, strong arts programs and faith formation. Along with raising funds for the school, we also always include a service component to the day. In years past you will remember that we collected food for the local pantry. Since we just did that in the spring, we will not be doing it this fall. This year our service will focus on the ALS Association (
www.alsa.org
) and we will be giving 10% of all proceeds to the organization.
Information about this non-profit health organization that is dedicated solely to the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Lou Gehrigs Disease.
We might be changing the time of year and service component, but this day will still be packed with fun for the students. They will be walking as a school, working on a service project and even have the chance at a fun experience. For every $100 a family raises they will have a ticket entered into a raffle giving them the chance to help various teachers, principals and pastors perform in the Ice Bucket Challenge (
what kid doesn’t want to pour freezing cold water on a teacher?!
).
This is sure to be a great day; the students are excited and we hope you are too!
