O-Shot®
What is the O-Shot®?
The O-Shot® is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure that can help improve a woman's sexual desire and orgasm, decrease urinary incontinence and treat a chronic skin condition called lichen sclerosus. Up to half of women experience low sexual desire and many others experience issues with arousal, lubrication and orgasm. The O-Shot® uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) that contains growth factors from the woman's own blood, and is injected into the clitoris and vaginal wall. This increases the blood flow, nerve sensitivity and collagen formation in the area, leading to improved sexual function.
What are the benefits of the O-Shot®?
This injection can increase a woman's sexual desire and arousal, as well as improve the number or quality of her orgasms. In addition, this procedure can help with

National Suicide Awareness Month
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. It's an opportunity to promote resources and awareness around the issues of suicide prevention, how to help others, and how to talk about suicide without increasing the risk of harm.
Suicide is a national epidemic, and it's getting worse. Not only is suicide the second-leading cause of death for all Americans between the ages of 15 and 54, but the age-adjusted suicide rate in the U.S. also increased a staggering 24 percent from 1999 to 2014.
For a variety of reasons, suicide largely remains a taboo topic in our society. When it does receive media attention, the reaction is typically to blame the victim, and to brand it a cowardly act. Unfortunately, this type of response is off-base, and it sidesteps the relationship between suicide and mental health and addiction.
We all should strive to understand this epidemic better, to identify those who need help, and to provide help to those who seek it. Click

Tips for Overeating
It is not clear why some people develop binge eating disorder, but there is a high prevalence of comorbid psychiatric conditions in people with this disorder including depression, anxiety, and phobias. About 50% of those with Binge Eating disorder are overweight, about the same as in the general population.
For those who are trying to optimize their eating habits overall for better health, recognizing triggers and becoming more educated about food and nutrition is useful. Meeting with a nutritionist to discuss healthy food choices and appropriate portion size is a good start. Having a plan ahead of time for a holiday or special occasion meal, such as not having second helpings or focusing more on the healthier parts of the meal can also help.
For anyone who feels their overeating is causing personal distress, or has evolved onto the spectrum of Binge Eating Disorder, the most successful treatment strategy is Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, either in a group or individual setting. Medications can be used as a second-line therapy, usually the SSRI antidepressants. The first step is to recognize if your eating behaviors have gotten out of your control, and to seek assistance from your provider to determine the best treatment option for you. 1.) What does wellness mean to you?
Wellness to me is an overall state of well-being. It is living a healthy lifestyle both physically and emotionally.
2.) What health advice do you promote to your family?
I always push my family to stay active. To have some type of exercise every day, even if it is as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator. It is important to keep your body moving.
3.) Are there any lifestyle changes that have positively or negatively affected your health?
I shifted towards a more healthy lifestyle about halfway through college and have kept it that way ever since. I cut out soda and most breads, I eat lots of protein, fruits and vegetables, and I exercise regularly. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. I have more energy, I feel strong, and I rarely ever even crave foods that are bad for me anymore. While it may be difficult to get your body used to this at first, the rewards of feeling like a healthy individual are so incredibly worth it.
4.) What activities do you participate in? What do you do to help you feel healthy?
I have always loved to play volleyball. I have been playing for 12 years and I am currently the assistant volleyball coach at Bryn Mawr College, so I play every day!
5.) What advice do you have for patients seeking to optimize their health?
Stop drinking soda! It is a small and easy step towards even bigger and better lifestyle and health changes.
