2017-18 School Year Opens
Activities for students and staff filled with Lancer Pride.

Superintendent Dr. Lynn Panega  and Principal John Gouriotis were proud of a very positive and spirited opening of the new school year.  On Thursday, August 17, the annual Freshman Family Barbeque welcomed the Class of 2021 with an evening of food and festivities that included a  spirit assembly involving the Lancettes, cheerleaders and band.

The staff Institute Day on Monday, August 21, featured over 250 students - lining the hallway from the cafeteria to the auditorium - who welcomed teachers with a spirit march led by the student drum line. Opening remarks to staff resonated with the theme of "We Are One: Pieces of One!" Speakers  included the Mayor of Roselle, a current parent and a 2015 graduate. Lancer staff also participated in observing the solar eclipse!
Mark Your Calendars: Curriculum Night
Parents invited to follow student's schedule.

Lake Park faculty and staff invite parents to attend Curriculum Night at East Campus on Wednesday, September 6 and at West Campus on  Wednesday, September 13. During those t imes, books can be purchased at the school library using cash, credit card, or with a check payable to Lake Park High School (with student ID# in the memo line.) Student Absence Notification System
Phone calls and emails help ensure daily accuracy.

Beginning this week, Lake Park once again implemented a notification system that auto-generates messages to parents for unaccounted student absences during the school day. This communication initiative is designed to improve efficiency as well as ensure accuracy of student records. If a student is marked absent in periods 1 or 2, notification will be sent alerting parents by 10:00 a.m. The same communication will be sent at the end of day for students who are absent during any periods 3-8.

Parents who receive the notification messages are asked to contact the attendance office to verify if the absence should be recorded as excused or unexcused. If parents have already made a call to the school, the attendance notification can be disregarded.
Friday Night Lights
Protocols for non-Lake Park students explained.

Lake Park looks forward to hosting tonight's football home opener versus Wheaton Warrenville South at West Campus. Please be advised of the following protocols regarding attendance as it relates to non-Lake Park students:
  • Any non-high school age student attending contests at the high school must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Students arriving without an adult chaperone will not be admitted to the game.
  • Backpacks and opened outside beverage containers are not allowed in the stadium, so please plan accordingly and bring what you need to be prepared for all weather.
  • Admission of $3 is charged to non-high school age students over the age of five (5) years old.
  • If you are not being driven home by your adult chaperone, please arrange for a ride to pick you up immediately following the contest in the circle drive in front of West Campus and not in the stadium parking lot. This helps to reduce traffic near the stadium.

Deadline for first semester level changes is October 1.

Lake Park High School strives to provide students with challenging academic curricula and instruction that optimizes their preparation for postsecondary success. Students who excel in their current course level are encouraged to challenge themselves further, while students who are struggling should engage in several academic interventions. This practice ensures that all students are fulfilling their academic potential.

Additional information regarding level change deadlines, and guidelines can be found here. View the Level Change UP request form and the Level Change DOWN request form.
