AP SCHOLARS NAMED
One hundred fifteen students at Kenston High School have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program exams.

National AP Scholars Mira Grcevich, Onur Kardzhala, Kaitlin McGrath, Paige Palmer and Katherine Smith earned an average score of  four (4) or higher on a five (5)-point scale on all AP Exams taken and scores of four (4) or higher on eight (8) or more of these exams.

The College Board ' s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school.  In addition, they can receive college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP exams.  About 18% of the more than 1.6 million high school students took AP exams and performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar.  See the complete list.
Raptor Visitor Management System
NEW SAFETY MEASURES
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority.  Beginning this school year, the district will utilize the Raptor Visitor Management System to provide immediate, real-time screening for visitors, contractors and volunteers entering our buildings.

When entering the building, visitors will be asked to present a valid state issued ID, it will be scanned and a badge will be issued that identifies the visitor, the date and purpose of the visit.  (It is important to note that the Raptor systems only scan the visitor's name, date of birth and photo for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders.  Any other information on the identification is not scanned by the system and is not stored or accessible to any of the users.)

A visitor's badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork.  In the event that a person does not have identification, they will be escorted by a member of the staff.

This Visitor Management System provides a consistent way to oversee people entering our buildings.  All visitors will be scanned into the system and required to wear a visitor badge.
SALES TAX HOLIDAY
For the third year, Ohio has enacted a sales tax holiday.  The holiday starts today, Friday, August 6 and ends on Sunday, August 6 at 11:59am.

During the holiday, the following items are exempt from sales and use tax: Clothing priced at $75 per item or less; School supplies priced at $20 per item or less; and school instructional materials priced at $20 per item or less.

Take advantage of the tax holiday while shopping for items on the  Kenston School Supply list.

Items used in trade or business are not exempt under the sales tax holiday.
ONLINE SCHOOL FEE PAYMENT
This year, parents can pay student school fees online using Visa, Master Card, Discover or Electronic check. Payments can be made through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.  Parents will be notified when fees are available for online payment.

This will allow you to pay all your student fees at once.   A $3 convenience fee will be charged per transaction.

(New families and current households without Parent Portal accounts will be receiving information to create their account in Back to School packets.)
