August is always one of my favorite months. It's filled with summer fun, picnics, celebrations, and back-to-school preparations. It's a time of shifting gears - as end-of-summer activities begin overlapping with fall season preparations.
At Impact 100, August is also a time of transitions and celebrations. We celebrate the major milestones achieved by previous grant recipients as we prepare to award transformational grants to THREE new recipients. Last year's grant recipients, Easter Seals-Building Value and Crayons to Computers, have both acquired their new equipment, and they are in the process of leveraging this new equipment to have an IMPACT on the community.
This year, we are very fortunate to have five wonderful Finalists - all proposing very strong, transformational projects that could have a huge positive IMPACT on the Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky community. And for the first time ever, we will be able to award grants to THREE of these Finalists! I encourage you to check out the Finalists and learn more about the projects they are proposing. The Executive Summaries of the Finalists are posted in the "Members Only" section of our Web-Site, and members will receive a password to access this confidential information.
We sincerely hope you can join us for the Annual Awards Celebration (AAC) on September 16th. This event is the culmination of the Impact 100 year - the opportunity for you to hear from the Finalists, cast your vote, network and enjoy other Impact 100 members, enjoy a delicious dinner, and see which organizations receive our 2014 Grant Awards. This is also a wonderful opportunity to invite your friends and colleagues who are interested in learning more about Impact 100 and potentially becoming new members. If you aren't able to join us in person, we hope that you take the opportunity to cast your vote via absentee ballot (it's very easy). We want ALL our members to vote.
We also hope that you are enjoying your Impact 100 experience, and that you choose to continue your membership. Please take a moment and renew your membership in the very near future. We'd love to count on you for next year.

Final weeks to see the Diana Exhibit

More than 15 years after her death, Princess Diana's memory still stirs interest and emotion. The award-winning exhibition Diana, A Celebration, which chronicles the life of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, will be on display at Cincinnati Museum Center through Aug. 17, 2014. Don't miss this opportunity - - This is the final showing for the renowned exhibition, which has been touring the world since 2003, before the items return to her sons in England to be preserved for future generations.
As you leave the Diana exhibit, "Daughters of the Queen City" highlights stories of philanthropy at work throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Impact 100 is one of the featured philanthropic organizations in the local section, where you can learn more about how organizations are working in the community today and how you can join them in their efforts. Impact of Impact 100

 We recently received the final report from Stepping Stones, one of our 2011 Grant Award Recipients ($112,000 grant). Because of our grant, the Sensory Needs Respite Program was piloted in 2013, and is now in its first full year of providing overnight respites for children with severe autism and extreme behaviors.

RIFF Distillery

NEW RIFF Distillery - Bourbon, Bites & YOU and Your Friends!

The Tower Room at New Riff Distillery
24 Distillery Way, Newport, KY 41073
Bourbon, Bites, You and Friends! Grab your date, your best friend and come to The Event Center at New Riff Distillery in Northern Kentucky. Enjoy nibbles and bites, great company in a wonderful venue. Drink tickets will be sold for $5 each. Your admission ticket includes a mini tour of the distillery between 5:30 - 6:30 and an overview of the distillery process* and a taste of O.K.I. bourbon.
* PLEASE BRING PROPER FOOTWEAR, TOURS TAKE PLACE OVER GRATED FLOORING AND WE WILL NOT PERMIT PERSONS WEARING HEELED FOOTWEAR TO TAKE A TOUR.
Our 2013 Impact 100 Grant recipient, Crayons To Computers, will speak briefly on the impact of the grant in the ten county area. We'll be collecting school supplies that evening and encourage you to come, bring your friends and enjoy Northern Kentucky's newest distillery. To learn more about the distillery, click here.

THANK YOU to our Impact 100 members and their guests for volunteering and making a difference on July 8th at Crayons to Computers, one of our Impact 100 Grant Award Recipients, for 2013. Our grant of $108,000 is helping to fund their Mobile Service Delivery Program, to reach out-lying school districts. We had 27 volunteers who helped sort and tag 3600 backpacks, to get ready for the upcoming school year. Founded in 1997, Crayons to Computers operates a free store for teachers from 514 greater Cincinnati area schools in 16 counties (in Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana), offering new and gently used school supplies, educational tools, and incentive items.

Who I am?
I've been an Impact 100 member since 2009. Professionally I manage and pay benefits for employees. Personally, I enjoy spending lots of time with my husband and our 3 children and future daughter-in-law.  My hobbies include golfing, scuba diving, hiking, skiing and just plain
having fun!
What got you involved with Impact 100 and keeps you a member?
Impact 100 attracted me for several reasons. The organization is an incredible group of talented women making a difference in our community. It gives me the opportunity to make a contribution to something bigger than I was doing as an individual. Finally, I know that our charitable contributions are going to sustainable organizations and are being used with the gift's intention.

Planning for the Future

Interested in doing more than just being a member of Impact 100 Cincinnati? Consider including Impact 100 in your estate plans, by contributing to our Endowment Fund. The  Endowment Fund was created a few years ago as a way to sustain the organization by using income produced by the fund to help offset operating expenses. As our membership numbers increase, our operating costs also increase.
