Thanksgiving - and "Each One Bring One"

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday season, I am reminded of the many aspects of Impact 100 for which we are thankful.

First - our wonderful Impact 100 members.  We are fortunate to have ~ 400 women who are committed to improving and transforming our community.  Our members give generously of their financial resources to help make the Greater Cincinnati area a better place to live, work and play.  Many of our members additionally share their valuable time and talents serving on Grant Review Committees, Operational Committees and on the Board.  Impact 100 is an amazing organization of passionate, committed, hard-working, FUN women!!

We are also thankful for the many strong non-profit agencies that serve our community. Not only are they working every day to provide services and inspiration to people in Greater Cincinnati, but they also continue to generate strong new projects and programs to do even more.  We are fortunate to have these agencies as our partners - bringing Impact 100 members programs that inspire us and are candidates for funding.  We just had an opportunity to meet with ~ 100 non-profit agency leaders at Impact 100's Grant Information Sessions, and the projects they are formulating for 2015 Grant requests are exciting and breakthrough.  I have no doubt that we will have strong Finalists for our 2015 Grants!

It is currently the time of year where one cycle of giving is ending, and another cycle is beginning.  Impact 100 members are heavily involved in the work of recruiting members for 2015 - so the strong tradition of giving transformational grants to the community can continue.  Many current members have already renewed their memberships for next year, and a number of new members have joined our ranks.  In fact, memberships amounting to ~$250,000 have been committed.  For the first time in Impact 100's history - we have a very good chance of funding a FOURTH grant.  In order to make this happen, we need your help!

We need our members to share their passion for Impact 100 and invite a friend to join.  In order to help you recruit a friend, a special event has been scheduled:

Let the Impact 100 Magic Continue

At this event, we will have an opportunity to hear form several Impact 100 Grant Recipients, who will provide an update regarding the impact they have had on the community as a result of their Impact 100 grant.

We hope that if you are considering membership - you will join us for this event. If you are already a member, please bring a friend who is a prospective member. Remember - Passion is contagious! Please register on our Web-Site and join us on Giving Tuesday, December 2nd.

If "Each One Brings One" - we'll reach of our goal to IMPACT MORE with FOUR next year!

I look forward to seeing you on Giving Tuesday - and at future Impact 100 events.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Warm Regards,

Sharon Mitchell

Queen Bee
Impact 100 was a sponsor for the inaugural running of the Queen Bee Half Marathon and Four-Mile race on Saturday, October 11th! What a FUN event! The Queen Bee is a female-themed race held in Greater Cincinnati, whose mission is to raise money for local female-oriented charities. We had a great team of Impact 100 members who participated in the event, and a BIG THANK YOU goes out to Anne Castleberry, who led the team!

In Memoriam - Kathy Owen
We sadly share that Impact 100 member Kathy Owens died in late September in an accident.  Click here to view her obituary. Kathy was full of life and to quote her daughter Melissa Mabjish Montag, "She died giving, and definitely instilled it in me".

Who I am?

Just like many of the amazing women I have met in Impact 100, I am a woman of many hats. Through a couple of interesting exercises I came to understand my purpose. I strive to help others reach their full potential and am therefore very passionate about the many hats I wear. I am Mom to a lively 7 year old daughter Kaylee, Executive Director for Camp Joy, community volunteer via Board/leadership involvement with Leadership Council of Health and Human Service Executives and Green Umbrella, and one of my absolute favorite hats to wear is...Friend!

What got you involved in Impact 100?

Elaine Seuss and how many of us probably have that same answer. Elaine is a great advocate for Impact 100 and we connected at a point in my life that I was looking for another way to be involved in the community and meet new friends.

What keeps you a member?

As a leader for a non-profit we are often on the other side asking for support and it is so refreshing and rewarding to sit on the giving side and be able to help another non-profit. I love the annual dinner as I am often re-inspired in my own work and get a chance to see and meet innovative leaders, learn about great projects and "feel" the true impact we all have together.
