LVCC Newsletter
April 2017
Message from the CEO
Dawn P. Argula CEO and President
Greetings!

Carrying on with the theme in my March message, the good news and kudos for our members just keep rolling in!  Our member businesses and organizations continue to deliver results, meeting and exceeding standards for their industry, strengthening the local and regional economy.  In recognition of this, I've introduced two new features for the monthly newsletter - LVCC Member Achievements; and to recognize special milestones - LVCC Member Milestones.  Send me your announcements to include in future newsletters.  Join me in an LVCC "Shout Out" to those recognized on the April list!

What's Up at LVCC?
A new website for LVCC is "Under Construction".  A big thank you to Tom Petty and WSI Smart Solutions, an LVCC Titanium sponsor, who is developing the new website.  It will be mobile device friendly, much more attractive and user friendly to website visitors and will easily integrate with the future LVCC database upgrade (coming late 2017).  The new website is anticipated to be rolled out in May.  It's a "work in progress", so suggestions are welcomed.  In the meantime, the existing website continues to be maintained with current information.

The latest issue of the LVCC Resource Guide/Directory 2017 is in development with Town Square Publications starting marketing for ad space soon.  This will be a special anniversary edition with release expected in time for the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season. Expect a call soon from Town Square with exciting opportunities for your business!

Livermore Downtown Steering Committee
I'm pleased to report that the Livermore City Council has included LVCC on its roster for the formation of the Livermore Downtown Steering Committee. Its primary task is to develop a public outreach program related to the development of the City's downtown with the initial focus on the development of a downtown hotel.  Final recommendations are expected by late June 2017 and will be forwarded to the city council.  I will be representing LVCC in this important effort.

Leadership Livermore
Public Safety & Judicial Law Day
For the March class, Leadership Livermore was given the rare opportunity to spend some time with the Livermore Police Department SWAT team and with Livermore-Pleasanton fire fighters. They learned safety tactics, as well as a variety of interactive activities. A lively session with the K-9 unit wrapped up the morning!

After a wonderful lunch catered by La PanotiQ, the class was summoned to an Alameda County Courtroom. They toured the courtroom and viewed actual cases being heard by Judge Bereola presiding. They learned about the inner workings of the court room and gained some insight into our judicial system.
