Around Town
Downtown Area Streets Maintenance Project
Maintenance of five streets in the downtown area will began last week. The City of Frisco has entered into a contract with Advanced Paving to perform the work.

The streets include:
Walnut Street - 1st St to 6th St
Oak Street - 1st St to 5th St
7th Street - Main St to Oak St
Crestview Drive - Entire street off Meadow Hill Dr
Camellia Lane - Sycamore St to North County Rd

This project includes the milling and removal of existing asphalt pavement, installation of new road base material, and placement of a new 2" thick hot mix asphalt driving surface. The entire project should be complete within five weeks of initiation. Access to parking lots and driveways will be maintained and available throughout the project, with the exception of brief periods while equipment is operating in close proximity.

The City is also beginning the process of preparing a master plan for the downtown area that will address land use, parking, traffic circulation, and pedestrian circulation. The final plan will serve as a basis for decisions regarding future conversion of existing asphalt streets to concrete streets. The development of the plan is expected to begin in fall of 2017.
