From the Rabbi's desk
Dear friends

A number of you have asked for a copy of the D'var Tefillah that I gave on Shabbat.  Here it is.  I spoke about the 'how' of prayer and offered four ways in which the wisdom of our tradition can help us pray our beautiful but challenging liturgy.  I hope it is helpful.

Please feel free to read it - I shall be talking about the 'how' of our prayer again over the course of the series.

Warmly
Rabbi Silver

Let Us Hear Your Story

The oral history committee has been busy recording the stories of our congregants and so preserving the history of our synagogue community.  Beginning in September, we will be establishing a permanent presence in the Bet Midrash, where members will be able to listen to the interviews.

While we have made a good start on our project, there are many more congregants whom we need to interview. We would be happy to train anybody who is interested in helping us.  The training takes only 20 minutes. Taking an oral history is immensely satisfying for both the interviewer and the person being interviewed.

Ellen Kessler and Jacquelyn Stern, the committee co-chairs, would love to talk to you if you are interested in helping preserve our history.
